Very good! Great flavor! I didn't have a haberino pepper so I used more chili powder. Also didn't have tomato sauce so I used V8. Served over rice, a spoonful of butter and chives. YUMMY!

This was a great chili, complex in flavor. I didn't have habaneros chilis, but I can see how that would make a difference...that chocolate taming the heat of the chili pepper. My husband liked it, but thought it tasted "different". That's what made it sooo good!

Added V8 for liquid. Sparky!! Can back off and add 1 tsp red pepper flakes and serve with sour cream.

One of the best chili recipes I've tried. I added another can of kidney beans and some black beans. Also used two habaneros - it was spicy but it wasn't a painful spicy where you couldn't eat it. The cocoa seemed to tone it down. It was a little hard to cook the turkey in the same pot on just one side though. I will probably cook the turkey in a separate pan next time and then mix it in to the veggies.

if i coulda licked the pot i would've! =P delicious and easy. i did use 3 jalapenos with seeds in them b/c after superbowl sunday a lot of chili items were out of stock but mmmmm. i also used 1Tbsp of cocoa powder and 1Tbsp of brown sugar instead of the packet of cocoa that i didn't have. I didn't even consider myself a chili fan but this definitely changed my mind.

DELICIOUS!! I made just a few changes. I used 1 lb each lean ground turkey and lean ground beef. I also used the seeds from 1 habenero and added an extra half of another without seeds. Mine also reduced quite a bit, so I added an extra can of tomato sauce and about a cup of water. I also added an extra 1/4 cup or so of corn. The spiciness was well balanced and had a nice complex flavor.

Delicious....omitted the habanero(cause my family cant stand the heat, unlike me),and omitted the hot cocoa mix. Otherwise, a very good hearty chili. My nine year old loved it! Thanks!

Excellent! I used 2 jalapenos instead of habanero, 3 cans of Rotel and for the beans, Brooks Chili Hot Beans. I placed #1 in a chili cookoff with this recipe, and everyone is asking for the recipe! The hot chocolate packet and the beer are a nice touch. There is just enough heat but is toned down a bit.

This is the recipe I used for the first time making chili at home and won't use any other one. This chili has some "kick" to it, so it's not for the meek. I followed it pretty much to the T, however my husband likes his chili with a little more sauce so I added more tomato sauce than what is called for in this recipe. I also used canned spicy chili beans drained instead of plain kidney beans. It's delicious either slow cooked or cooked over the range. Serve with a scoop of sour cream and shredded cheddar on top with baked pita bread on the side.

This is the best chili recipe ever! I was hesitant about the cocoa, but don't be, it really adds to the flavor. Thanks for the recipe.

Extremely flavorful and simple to make. Substituted serrano peppers because my store didn't have habanero. Still spicy, but not unbearable. Thank you - this is a keeper!

The fourth chili recipe I tried from the site, and the only one I will ever make again. Everyone raves about how good it is when they try it and everyone wants the recipe. I keep the ingredients pretty much the same, but make some minor changes: Celery, Italian sausage patties (browned and crumbled), substitute hot chocolate mix with 1 tbsp cocoa and 1 tbsp brown sugar. Comes out brilliant every time.

Excellent. Prepared recipe as written and my husband absolutely loved it. My temperature shy daughter even served herself up a big bowl to take to school with her. Will definitely prepare this recipe again.

WOW, WOW, WOW... And did i mention WOW. I used a jalapeño pepper because the local grocery was out of habaneros and i simmered it in a crock pot on low for 5 hours and then added corn and hot sauce for an additional hour. I would also recommend using the green Tabasco sauce with this recipe because the flavors compliment each other so well. THANKS JIM

This is by far the best chili I have ever made. My husband continues to rave about it and has requested that I make it again ASAP. The flavor of this chili is simply outstanding. I wimped out a bit and used a jalapeño pepper rather than a habanero, but it was still outstanding. Wonderful recipe! Highly recommend!

I made this chili a couple of weeks ago as the turkey option at an annual chili party in a large group of friends. The chili has some interesting flavors that are very good but not for me. I thought the hot chocolate mix was a good idea but was too sweet. If I make it again, I plan on using some dark chocolate to give it that chocolate accent but without the sweetness.

I've made this as directed in the past and whoa, it's spicy, but ohhhh so good! The past couple times I have had to cut down on the spice significantly due to children eating with us. It's still fantastic but I like it with all the spice!
