I modified this recipe... I browned the meat in a fry pan first,added BBQ sauce (bottled) instead of ketchup, added a cup of beer and 2 cloves of garlic,beer mustard,celery SEED, fresh cracked pepper and sea salt.....DELICIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK, but fast. I prepared it exactly as written. A bit too ketchupy. The sauce could definitely use some serious modification. Maybe some garlic and soy sauce and sugar could fix this recipe.

Excellent recipe for a typically "tough" cut of meat. Turned out very tender- shredded with a fork. Great smoked flavor.

I tried this recipe today and my husband and I really enjoyed it. It was my first attempt at making a brisket and I wasn't sure how to do it. I am glad I found this one I will make it again
