Smashed Sweet Potatoes Recipe Reviews - Allrecipes.com (Pg. 1)
Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2004
I have made this recipe just as it is (except with a little less bourbon :) or have combined it with a sweet potato souffle recipe and it has been phenomenal both ways. Whenever Thanksgiving comes around my friends are constently asking for the recipe. To combine it with a souffle recipe I simply fold in one or two eggs and add about a teaspoon of vanilla to the recipe. I then add a crubled pecan topping that consists of pecans, brown sugar, and butter. Yum!!

This was very, very good - I used the orange juice instead of the bourbon and it turned out great - thanks for the recipe!

These are excellent smashed sweet potatoes. I omitted the marshmallows and bourbon. Instead of juicing an orange, I just used a quarter cup of orange juice. I also roasted the potatoes before blending in the butter and spices. Then I only baked them for about ten minutes. Tasted so incredibly delicious. Thank you - I will use this recipe again.

Great dish! I loved the addition of the orange flavor and zest in sweet potatoes! No bourbon and don't need marshmallows - it's sweet enough. Maybe candied pecans on top would give it a nice crunch?

These were good - my 2 yr old ate them right up, so that was great.
