Added the ranch mix, garlic and taco seasoning while browning the sausage. Otherwise kept the same. WONDERFUL with sour cream and cheese added in at the table!! Oh, and I only had it in crockpot on high for 2.5 hours.

This soup is great! On occasion I omit the chicken for just a veggie soup and I use frozen corn instead of canned and add it only in the last 10 minutes of cooking so it stays somewhat crisp.

Fairly good. I think next time I'll drain the corn and kidney beans to make it a little less watery. It has a chili-esque flavor to it. Quick and easy.

Yum and super easy. I of course made variations as everyone does. I added an extra can of chilies and corn and extra taco seasoning. A can of black beans and El Pato (yellow can) instead of tomatoe sauce. The ease alone gives this recipe 5 stars.

This recipe is a must-try!! I make this often, my family loves it. Easy and tastes great! My only change is replacing the kidney beans with black beans.

Pretty good! I made it on the way out the door for Sunday morning church service. Left it on low, only to find that when my dad walked by and saw it, he turned it to "keep warm." Urg! As you can imagine it wasn't at its best. BUT, I turned it up and let it cook some more. Then we had it for leftovers the next day and it was very good. All the flavor had been allowed to cook in then.

This was an awesome recipe!!!! I only used one can of beans (the hot kind), drained the corn, and used 1 1/2 packets of taco seasoning. I also used canned tomatoes packed with garlic. I didn't add any extra water because we like our soup thick. I topped it with cheddar/jack mix shredded cheese, sour cream, chopped raw onion, chopped serrano peppers, sliced avocado and hot tortilla chips! Delicious! The only thing I will change is to only use 1 can of tomatoes next time.

this was great but i did make some changes. i didn't add any water and i used frozen corn and 2 frozen chicken breasts instead of canned and beef. i also just added some chili powder, cumin, brown sugar, minced garlic and a cube of beef bouillon instead of taco seasoning. i let it cook on low all day, then added a can of beer and turned it up to high for an hour. really good!

To me it tasted just like Wendy's chili. I agree with others this is a good base recipe. I think you should add what you like. It would be yummy with chicken instead of beef.

I have been making this recipe for years, but we call it "SANTA FE SOUP". The only difference is I add a packet of Ranch Dressing Mix and use hominy instead of corn. (I'm not a big fan of kidney beans, so I usually forget to buy them. The soup is just as good without them). Serve w/ grated cheese and some cornbread.

Great recipe!! I added an extra pouch of taco seasoning and some comino and garlic powder for some extra spice. Served with tortilla chips. This is a keeper.

This was so good and everyone loved it. I did not follow recipe exactly as I omitted the kidney beans. I doubled everything and made a huge amount but failed to double the taco seasoning. I was good but lacked the flavor that it needed. It reminded me of very thin "chili" soup. Next time I will use two packs of taco seasoning when i make a large amount. Otherwise really good, will definitely be making this one again!

This recipe tasted more like a chili than tacos although my young children and husband loved it. I skipped the 2 cups of water and made it thicker and when I served it, I added grated cheese on top with a dollop of sour cream and a dollop of guacamole and served chips with it....this made it a little more like tacos to me. I'll probably make it again because it was so easy.

I agree with the person who said this is chili, but it's a very good chili. I found a can of tomatoes with green chiles and used black beans and kidney beans. Also used a little less water, just the amount needed in the cans to rinse them. My husband makes a great chili, but he said mine is almost as good as him.

First soup I tried and it tasted wonderful. Instead of using a can of hot peppers, I used one can of diced tomatoes with hot peppers in it and one regular one. I worked perfectly.

Quick and easy to prepare. One of the best flavored taco soups I've ever had. I topped it off with shredded cheese and poured it over tortilla chips.
