Had good flavor. Kids loved it. Husband loved it. I loved it, and I especially loved how incredibly easy it was. Everyone will gladly take it for lunch tomorrow.

Great Recipe! I will be making this on a regular basis. A made a couple of changes. I chopped up 1 med onion and minced up 2 cloves of garlic to brown with the meat. Also added 1 tsp cumin,1 pkt ranch dressing mix and used all black beans. I don't think it needs to be cooked 8-10 hours or the beans will melt.I also omitted the water and used 1 can chicken broth. Thanks for great recipe.

Delicious & very hearty. I added a can of black beans and omitted the cans of diced chiles so soup would not be too hot for my little dudes. Very flavorful.

A "keeper" said my husband, we loved this. I did use the ranch packet and I also pureed the tomatoes so we didn't have big chunks. I added about a tsp. of vinegar and LOTS of tobasco. We wanted it a bit thicker so for the last hour, I turned it up to high and took the lid off. This was delicious, we will definitely add this to our favorites!

I make this a couple of times a month as a double batch in my crock pot. Then I divide it out into single portions and freeze for my husband's lunches. It is one of our favorites! I make the following changes: - 1 lb shredded chicken in place of the ground beef (I boil the chicken breasts for 20 minutes, let them cool, then pull apart). - I use black beans in place of chili beans - I cut the tomato sauce back to 4 oz - I omit the water We like the soup to be more like a thick chili, which it is without the water. It is GREAT for dipping tortilla chips into... yummy!

This is a great recipe base for sure, but I have tweaked it a little. I like to make it thick like chili, so I omit the water. I also add more taco seasoning and throw in some chopped jalapeƱos (not too much, just enough for a little flavour). Like others, I usually serve it up with some cheese, sour cream and nacho chips. And sometimes I don't have the right kind of beans, so I just throw in navy, black, kidney; whatever combination I have in the pantry goes in and it always turns out great.

I will definitely be making this again! My husband loved it and was craving more the next day. We ate it a spoonful of sour cream and cheese on top, with tortilla chips of course. It's also very good with rolls. Makes great leftovers!

This recipe deserves so much more than five stars. It tastes great, is extremely easy, and is also good for you. What more can you ask from a recipe? Although excellent as is, I only made some changes because we love lots of heat. I use Old El Paso "hot and spicy" taco seasoning, canned diced tomatoes that include jalapenoes, and add approx 1/4 cup (maybe more, have never really measured) of diced jalapeno peppers that you can find in the pickle/relish section of your grocery store (another time saver). Once it is ready to serve, break up tortilla chips and put over the top with some shredded cheese, and corn muffins on the side (also made with jalapenoes), and ta-da. Thanks Janeen for such a great recipe to add to my favorites!

Wow! This soup was so easy and tasted so good! The hardest part about making this soup is having to wait to eat it! The great thing is you can make it as spicy or mild as you like by using different degrees of spice available through the ingredients. Awsome served with home fried flour tortilla strips sour cream and fresh avocado. Thank you so much for this recipe we will enjoy it for a long time!

This was pretty good. Not as much flavor (or kick) as Id like but that could be because I don't use taco packets due to the sodium content. I instead substituted cumin & chili powder. Next time I will use more cumin, add a chopped jalapeno or two, and more onion. Boyfriend ate his only with grated cheese, but I had it with a dollop of sour cream, grated cheese & crushed tortilla chips. If you ask me it made the dish so much better! The second day we ate it over rice, which stretched it out. We had this for two dinners (one with two helpings each) and a lunch. The only thing I would add (on top of the other additions) is some chopped CILANTRO with the sour cream, cheese and crushed chips. I think this would make it a 5 star. Oh, I also used ground turkey.

I loved this. I am not the biggest fan of thick types of chili, not that this is chili. But I used all black beans because I wasn't sure what type of chili beans the author meant. I loved the corn in it, what a twist. I just have to say this was so fabulous. I will be making this instead of chili!!

Just made it! It has a good taste to it, but it reminds me of watery chili...instead of soup. I'll make it again, and my little tikes liked it!

I love this recipe but favor the Chicken Taco Soup from this site. The only thing I do different is use Bill Echol's Taco Seasoning and it is to die for! LOVE this recipe! So easy too!

Mmmmm! We loved this. Of course, my boyfriend dumped a ton of hot sauce into his, but it was just perfect for me. I omitted the onion, and browned the meat with a clove of garlic. I realized I didn't have any chili beans, but I did have chili ready diced tomatoes. So I used those and 2 cans of kidney beans. Served topped with shredded cheese and a dollop of sour cream. Yum!
