Great, Easy recipe. I used Chicken Breast seasoned with black pepper and garlic that I baked for 30 minutes covered before adding to the soup. The chicken came out shredded after cooking down in the soup and it was delicious. I also added a clove of garlic chopped. This was a delicious soup - we ate it all and enjoyed every bite.

Fabulous!!! I had to cut out 1 chicken breast, a can of tomatoes and the beer in order to fit it into my slow cooker but it turned out amazing in the end. YUM!

this was very good and super easy. i mixed some shredded lettuce, chopped cilantro, sliced black olives, and freshly squeezed lime together and i topped each bowl with that mixture, a dollop of light sour cream, and some homemade tortilla strips i made the day before. i will definately make this again. i liked it even better than the popular slow cooker chicken taco soup from this site. this was a great way to use up some of my frozen venison.

I've made this recipe more times than I can count since finding it on this site several years ago so I thought it was about time I rated it. FANTASTIC ! Easy to throws together when I'm home for my lunch hour and dinner is ready when we get home. It's always a hit. The only changes I've ever made are the addition of extra peppers to our hotter than normal humans taste. We serve it with a large bowl of Fritos Scoops and the spoons hardly get used. Great weekday recipe, especially in the cold months.

Always a hit at any potluck. Discovered by chance that this recipe can be vegan friendly by removing the meat, and finding a taco seasoning that doesn't have milk product. The vegans at work loved it!

It was really good to dip the tortilla chips in, but it definitely tasted like chili. I love it because it's so easy to make and my fiance kept raving about how much he liked it!

oh my gosh! This is AWESOME! I added hominy for an added flavor. I have made it as written and then when budget runs tight I have made changes. I cooked the hamburger with the taco seasoning. I think it has a little more flavor that way.

This taco soup is AMAZING!!! I have made it for the third time today and my family loves this taco soup! The only change I make is I add an extra taco seasoning packet, I add a bit of red chilli flakes and some garlic salt. I also LOVE the fact that it is so simple to prepare. It takes me about 15 minutes to brown the hamburger and open all the cans and toss them in the crock pot in the morning. Then, when I come home, dinner is done. Who doesn't like that?

Great Taco Soup! I did use a bulk taco mix from allrecipe that was nice and spicy. Great for busy afternoons when you have a bit of time to put everything in the crock pot in the morning. I did put one can of chili beans but forgot to soak beans (cheaper than canned) so I put in some chick peas that I had already cooked and it worked nicely. Also, I had a can of Ro Tel tomatoes with green chili peppers that I replaced for some diced tomatoes and chilies. Had leftovers and shared with my MIL.

This is a staple at my house. I make this at least once a week. I substitute 1 can hot enchilada sauce for the tomato sauce and I use chili and black beans instead of kidney beans. Personal preference.

Excellent with slight revisions. I used Yves Meatless Ground Round instead of beef... couldn't tell the difference. Added 3 cloves minced garlic, reduced the water a bit, and instead of prepared taco seasoning made my own of: ground cumin, chili powder, oregano, cilantro, cayenne pepper, paprika, kosher salt, and black pepper. Also added some spinach to get some greens. YUM!

Good pantry/freezer recipe. (I'm always looking for emergency meals that don't require a trip to the store.) The flavor of the canned tomatoes in this soup were a bit overpowering for me. I would try substituting a can of broth for one of the cans of tomatoes. Or maybe omit the can of tomato sauce.

I made this last month for my sister-in-law's superbowl party. It was a hit! I followed the recipe exactly. We served it with crushed tortilla chips and sour cream. People kept going back for bowl after bowl. I thought it could be a little more spicy, but everyone else said it was perfect. I will definietly make this again!

Fantastic! This is a great winter recipe! Warms you right up. My husband loves it, and for awhile we were making it once a week! I did make a few changes to the recipe after reading other reviews. I used two packages of taco seasoning, one mixed in with meat. For the diced tomatoes, I used the celery, onion, and pepper mix. I make a chili recipe that is very similar to this one, so instead of using kidney beans I substitued black beans. I also added cumin and a bunch of ground red pepper for an extra kick. Top with shredded cheese and serve with fritos.
