Directions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook and stir beef in the hot skillet until browned and crumbly, 5 to 7 minutes; drain and discard grease.
  2. Mix ground beef, tomatoes, rice, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, and black pepper together in a bowl. Stuff each green bell pepper with ground beef mixture.
  3. Arrange stuffed bell peppers in the crock of a slow cooker; place the reserved tops back onto each bell pepper. Pour water around the base of each stuffed bell pepper.
  4. Cook on Low for 6 to 8 hours.

I gave it 5 stars although I haven't tried this recipe yet but I don't understand cooking the hamburger meat first when 6 to 8 hours in a slow cooker should cook the meat. What am I missing? Heck, I'm still trying to figure out how to get 2 beaten eggs off the ceiling from my last attempt at cooking :) Regards, Danny

Needs to be cooked in a red sauce, the beef broth did not help the flavors and left the meat tasteless.
