This was great! I made it with low-fat mushroom soup, fat-free cheddar cheese and I used non-fat milk instead of the water. I also microwaved the potato slices and onions for about 10 minutes before doing the rest of the recipe. I didn't have time for the slow cooker so I put it in a 8x11 dish sprayed with Pam and baked at 375 for about 35 minutes. My husband was very pleased with the flavor and texture.. so this is definately a keeper!

This recipe was very good, but I had problems (as did others) with it cooking in the crockpot. I did end up putting it in the oven for 1 hour, after 4 hours in the crockpot. I would add more cheese next time and maybe some garlic to give it some punch. Overall, very good and provided several meals and great warmed up in the microwave (with the addition of a little milk).

Looking for ways to use left over ham & stumbled across this recipe. No time for slow cooking so we tossed it in the oven and baked it at 350 for an hour as suggested by another reviewer. We also used milk instead of water and added a bit more cheese. The kids are already asking if we can make it again next week!

These were totally awesome! I did add tons more cheese and used 2 cans of cream of mushroom soup mixed each with a can of skim milk though. And I cooked my ham seperately. I put them on low and went to work....came home about 9 hours later and some cheese had burnt to the sides of the crockpot but I LOVE that taste. Next time I will put a timer on for about 7 hours tops! I didn't have the liquid problem other reviews did either. The soup turned the potatoes a carmel color, but they tasted phenomenal! I will definitely be making these REAL soon.

.. The kids & I thought it was ok. The hubby liked it, but he adds hot peppers to everything. I didn't think it had enough flavor. We will try it again and throw some flavors in, cuz it was so easy to make. I am a crock pot cooking Fan. ! Thanks.

This was very good and simple enough to make.... i adjusted to my family's preference and added garlic and used half and half instead of water for a creamier texture. I did cook it in the over at 350 for about hour and half and it was nice and brown. I will definately make again

I doubled the ham and cheese, but my husband said to quadruple the ham next time. Quick, easy recipe, good to use left over ham.

Yummy. Many different steps to prepare it, but worth it. The recipe called for minced onion and garlic powder. I changed that to sauteed yellow onion in butter, with fresh garlic. I think that makes it taste more, authentic. An added bonus, the house smells great!

This was a really good recipe. The only thing I will do differently next time is not add the salt or a little less. I think the ham added enough salt. I used milk instead of water too, which I think made it almost to rich, so next time I will use half milk and half water. I also ended up putting in the oven for about an hour because my family was getting a little restless for dinner. Other than that it was pretty good and I think that I am going to take it to my mothers for Easter dinner for a side dish.

Definitely not enough moisture. Left it on low and came home to find everything burnt. DON'T TRY!

This was so quick and easy and tasty. DH loved it, said it reminded him of being a kid when his mom used to make it. It is also pretty healthy for you, I am on a specific diet and it works well for it. Definitely would recommend and will make again.

Thanks for the recipe, but this was not for us. I was able to save it by adding a can of potato soup and cheddar cheese soup, then put it all in another pan topped with more cheese and bacon bits until cheese was melted. With my revisions hubby came back for seconds but as written we did not care for it. I love slower cooker recipes so keep them coming!

It was good for a change, but the family agrees that that we would not want it on the rotation menu.
