Easy Easy Easy. I like recipes that have ingredients that are on hand. I didn't cook for 22 hours just for 10 hours while I was at work and it was falling apart and delicious.

DELICIOUS! 22 hours was too long, it was done in about 14 hours. My guests were raving about the delicious beef sandwiches. My friends begged to help eat the leftover's the next day (rather than go out to a restaurant), so I added about 1 cup of water to the left over's, and cooked a bag of homemade egg noodles....poured the beef and juice over the noodles, and topped with sour cream, stirred it up and .. that made a tasty beef strogonoff... again, delicious. Both meals I served a corn and bean pickled salad, and hard rolls. YUMM, A Definite KEEPER!! THANKS! If I could give it more than 5 stars, I would give it a 10!!

My family thought this was a good recipe. I added potatoes and baby carrot about six hours before serving.

This is the perfect roast beef recipe. Easy as can be - fix it the night before and forget about it till you're ready to eat the next day! Everyone I've ever made this for loves it, and DH wants this once a week. The only thing I do differently from the recipe is sear the beef on all sides before putting it in the crock pot for a nice color. While the beef is resting I strain the juice and make a gravy that is just perfect for the meat. This is my standby roast beef recipe and a staple in our house.

Great, easy recipe and I have adopted it to our venison roasts as well. Makes even the cheapest cut extremely tender. Have to watch our salt intake so the soy sauce is replaced with just water or low sodium beef broth. I have even found you can use a cooking bag in the crockpot which helps with cleanup and makes everything super moist. Open the door after a hard day at work and the aroma is wonderful! The king of the manor loves it. Makes a middle of the week dinner easy and Sunday special....

I had a 3 pound roast and was looking for a good recipe that was easy and still had enough juices left after cooking to make gravy. This was awesome. The roast was a cheap cut, but very tender after being cooked for about 20 hours. I decided to add about half a can of beer (just because I was curious) and it added some nice flavour. The gravy was really good too-I cooked some new potatoes and baby carrots and onions in a casserole in the oven and used about a cup on the juices from the roast to pour over the veggies while they baked. In the end I decided to make the Quick and easy Yorkshirs pudding recipe as well because I had so much gravy. I don't do roasts well typically, but this was easy and so good. And my husband was more than impressed with my culinary talents.

I like being able to start this at night before I go to bed instead of in the morning when I am more pressed for time. Was quite good. I did use a can of defatted beef broth and a large sliced onion instead of the dry onion soup mix which I don't care for and just added less water.

The best roast I've ever made. (Though, admittedly, I had no idea what I was doing before and never added enough water.) I made this for neighbors who just had a baby but needed to "sample" it before packing it up. It was so good and tender I was sad to see it go. I went out and bought another roast so my husband and I will have our own to enjoy later this week. Looking forward to it!

This was great. I also did it with a moose roast and it was the juicest thing I have ever had. It also tamed down the gamey taste of the moose so the kids loved it as well.

Very tender meat and simple recipe, I will certainly use a little less pepper next time however. Possibly add 2 tblsp. of worcestershire.

It turned out awesome - but I knew I wanted veges in it too, so I didn't need to make a side dish to go with it. I had to sneak a bite for lunch, and I think 12+ hours would have been enough time, but I still let it cook for the full 22 hours (although it seemed no more or less tender with additional cooking, but still very tender). I added a 1lb onion, about 7 cloves garlic slivered, about 3/4lb baby carrots, 1/2lb snow peas, and about 1-1/2lb of cubed potatoes. I put the meat in so that it lined the bottom of the crock pot and piled the everything else in on the top (the veges were not in any of the juice at first since they were on top of of the meat, as intended -- I didn't them overcook and allowed me to prepare everything at once). In the morning, when I had plenty of juice, I stirred it up and let it veges cook in the juice with the meat for the rest of the time. Perfect. I suggest adding some vegetables (though I haven't cooked it by the recipe to say that its better without).

Got to love this recipe add the ingredients and walk away! I used a moose roast and it turned out perfect (we had been having problems with these roasts as they were very dry) Not anymore! My 5 yr old and 3yr old even asked for seconds! The hardest part was falling asleep the night before to delicious aroma!

I thought the soy sauce was a bit strong. But the meat came out very tender. If I make this recipe again I think I will just omit the soy altogether. It was also nice to not heat up my kitchen for several hours cooking it in the oven.
