It was quite salty, even after using low sodium soy sauce and low sodium dry onion soup mix. Cooked on high for 4 hours and then low for an additional 4 hours and it was very "fall apart" tender. Despite the saltiness of it, was still very delicious.

not sure about this one, seems like it is a slow boil recipe with all that water. Cooked meat (top round roast) for 15 hours on slow before i pulled it. Sort of tender, but mostly dry and flaky. It also reduced down in half from 54 ounces to 27 and i only left a half inch fat cap on top when it went in. Broth might have potential for gravy or beef soup.

Wow! I was amazed at how easy this was! I did not leave it in the crock pot for 22 hours. Rather, I took the advice from another reviewer and started the roast at 7 or 8 am, add some carrots and potatoes at 1pm, and it was perfect to eat by 6pm! It was absolutely delicious! I used beefy onion soup mix and regular soy sauce. I didn't have any low sodium as others have suggested, but we didn't find it too salty. I also forgot to add the pepper (oops). Great recipe!!!

I was afraid with the soy sauce and soup mix the roast might be too salty but it wasn't. The kids thought this was the best roast they've had.

I made this yesterday & it was a hit! My husband said it was in his top 3 favorite meals this year. I made it as is...but cooked it on low for 10 hours. Served it shredded on small hoagie rolls with mozzarella cheese on them. Placed them in the broiler for a minute. They were delish!

Really loved this as a meal, although I thought the amount of au jus was excessive and not really thick enough for gravy. We added some mushrooms when we saw there was a lot of liquid to let the flavor soak into the veggie--it was an excellent veggie side!

This was delicious. I used low sodium soy sauce and half what the recipe required. I also added 2/3 cup water. Cooked it on low for 11 hours, turned out delicious. We ate it with mashed potatoes and broccoli. We will definitely make this one again.

I can just see someone ruining a perfectly good roast and turning it into beef jerky by following this recipe and the 22 hours in the slow cooker.
