I cannot recommend this recipe. In place of an expensive pork tenderloin I used a pork butt - on the recommendation of many posters. Don't know if that was the problem, but my husband nor I cared for it. In fairness, I may try it again with a tenderloin. Except for using the pork butt, I did not change the recipe.

Great Recipe. I used a 3 lb pork tenderloin, cooked on low with Root Beer for 8 hours while we were at work, when I got home I drained root beer and added Jack Daniels BBQ sauce for another 1 1/2 to 2 hours on low. It was so simple yet so delicious. I served on burger buns with Coleslaw.

I received an advertisement in the mail to subscribe to All Reciepes magazine and saw this reciepe, tried it, mainly due to all the 5 star ratings. As the saying goes "There's a reason that Baskin Robbins has 31 flavors." Way, way too sweet; mushy meat. Used Sweet Baby Ray's original sauce and pork shoulder. There are 2 people in my family who have real "sweet tooths" and they gave it a thumbs down. The solution was to put salsa on it, to add flavor other than root beer and to cut the sweetness some. We followed the suggestion from AR people to use cole slaw on the sandwiches; it did help and because of that, we were able to eat it the first night. To each his own. :)

My Daughter-in-law loves pulled pork! I made this recipe and she loved it! My husband, not a barbeque man, really raved! My Dad, who does not like barbeque sauce at all, really liked the pork after it was cooked in the root beer. He ate it just like that! Me, I couldn't get enough! I used the tenderloin and rootbeer and it was perfect!
