This was a a great recipe to make in advance and serve as my family arrived at different times (from out of town.)I took the advice on here and bought a Boston butt instead of a pork tenderloin- great advice, wonderful flavor.
I bought 2 (12 oz) bottles of regular Root Beer, and used about one and a half. I cooked it 6 hours in my slow cooker, let it cool, then shredded it and returned it to the slow cooker with BBQ sauce.
It was a real hit--and we're a family that usually sticks to grilled chicken or fish! It's very easy, very tasty, and not $$$ !
