This was a great meal. It was easy to prep and not have to worry about dinner on a busy day. I only cooked it for 5.5hrs on low and it turned out fine, I served it over egg noodles, but I personally would have prefered rice (but we didnt have any!) The meat was so tender it easily came apart with a fork. Will definetly make again.

This was my first time ever making/ having pepper steak in my life. Not only was it really tasty but my boyfriend finsihed polished off the whole entire thing. I did however, triple the amount of water, boullion, and soy sauce I used. I even took some ideas of the other reviewers and added a few dashes of worcestershire sauce. I also added the peppers with about 1 hour left to the pot, added some broccoli too. Added cornstarch to get desired consistency for the gravy. I will be making this again!

We really enjoyed this recipe. I followed the directions exactly, but added some minced garlic (around 2 tsps. )I cooked it on low for 6 hours, but I think it would have been ready in 5...I took some cool water, added about 1 tsp. cornstarch mixed it together and then put into the pot to thicken the sauce about a half hour before the time was up. I served it over rice and it was delicious! I think next time, I'll only cook for 5 hours and add the peppers about half way through since I do like them soft. Thanks for the recipe.

This was absolutely delicious. It is so refreshing to find a slow cooker recipe that doesn't involve stockpiling mountains of "cream of something soup". I didn't have any beef so I used pork and I didn't have any garlic powder so I just used fresh garlic. I doubled the recipe and substitted the second lot of soy for sweet soy. I also added some worchestershire and a heap of black pepper as other reviewers suggested. After reading another reviewers comment, I was hesitant about adding two cans of tomato, but found that they almost completely disapeared. I also waited till the final hour to add the peppers. All in all this was a great recipe that I will be making again and again! Thank you!

My husband and I LOVED this recipe. The tomatoes gave it such great flavor. We couldn't think of anything to make it better. We will definitely be making this over and over again!

It's delicious with a few changes. I used 2 cups of low sodium beef broth since I didn't want to add a can of tomatoes (just didn't seem right in the recipe), used a large onion, red bell pepper, no sugar, added worcestershire sauce, low sodium soy sauce and black pepper - it needs pepper. Had to add a little extra cornstarch at the end to get gravy thickness to our liking, absolutely delicious on rice or a cooked potato.

The sauce had the best flavor, and the meat was tender enough to cut with a fork. Will definitely make again.

Wow - whole family liked this! Left out the bell pepper (hubbie doesn't like). Was on the thin side, but all crockpot recipes seem watery. Need to figure out how to thicken. Still an easy, filling meal.

I double the sauce as recommended. I did not like the stewed tomatoes. I think next time I will add only the juice from the tomatoes, and add more pepper and potatoes cut up. Had good flavor, but picked around tomatoes. Will make again, but different.

This is just not good. It tastes like nothing but tomatoes and is very flavorless otherwise. On top of that, the texture is terrible. I had my doubts about this recipes upon reading it, but was reassured by the overall positive reviews. I should have trusted my own judgement!

Great recipe. Good change from your typical crock pot recipe with cream of anything soup. Definitely put the peppers in at the end. I will double the sauce next time. The only change I made was I did not add salt. 7/7/08-This is so wonderful I did triple the sauce this time. I did not add any salt. You need to make it.

This turned out great! I took the advice of other posters and added the green peppers about 1/2 hour before serving. I did substitute diced tomatoe
