I did not peel the potatoes, I think that the skin provides a great texture and color. These were the best mashed potatoes that I have ever eaten! The cat is out of the bag...I will never be able to get away with instant mashed potatoes again!!!

These were good, but I'm honestly not sure if they were worth the trouble...

Perfect mashed potatoes. Tried it with regular russet potatoes and it came out just fine. Doubled the recipe for Christmas dinner and it was completely gone. Great made ahead recipe.

If there was a way to rate these a 10 I would! These are absolutely the best mashed potatoes in the entire world. I have cooked these in a pot, without having time to slow cook them, and they still turn out amazing. The best way is to slow cook them, but either way, this recipe is the BEST! I make these for every holiday, and get nothing but great compliments. Thanks for sharing such a yummy dish!!

Very good recipe. Also good with gold potatoes and also you got to add a little garlic salt.

Wow -- simply fabulous! This is pretty calorie intensive for every day fare, but perfect for a show-stopping, low maintenance dish for guests.

These are the best mashed potatoes ever! I whip mine with a hand beater to make them extra fluffy.

WOW!!! these potatoes are the best!!! my whole family loved them when i served them with our traditional christmas eve dinner! i even overheard my nephew say to his mom 'these are even better than what you get in the restaurant!' and being able to have the potatoes ready to go ahead of time was such a help! and the idea of putting the towel under the lid was very helpful! cant wait to make these potatoes again!

Delicious and so easy! My family loved them. As well as putting the towel on top, I stirred the potatoes periodically to make sure they didn't "cook" too much on the sides and bottom.

Made these for Christmas dinner they were a big hit. My brother in law was still talking about them when he left! I left the skin on the potatoes which made them kind of festive. They were a bit lumpy, but everyone still loved them. Not having a pot full of potatoes on the stove while cooking the turkey was terrific too!

My family enjoyed it, however there wasn't really anything special about it. It tasted just like mashed potatoes prepared without the chicken flavoring and garlic. There really wasn't anything significant about it. It was ordinary.

Oh my gosh- these are divine!!! I added a bit of sugar and garlic powder to the potatoes before putting them to the crock. They are so wonderfully creamy and a perfect companian to Bavarian Meatballs (from this site). Keeping them warm in the slow cooker is a great idea, yet delicious right from the boiling pot. My next go round will include a packet of veggie soup mix added to the recipe. Highly recommended!!!

Very tasty and it's so handy to be able to make them up ahead of time instead of right before serving the meal when there are other things to do - like visit with your guests. I will make this recipe again.

ooh mmm good! These were sooo good! I kept the potatoe skins on and added garlic butter! My kids loved them and best of all the crock pot kept them warm on the second go around.

I brought this to our Company Potluck and it received rave reviews. 10#'s of potatoes went in no time at all. I was short on sour cream so I added mayo & it turned out great. I also mixed everything with a blender before transering to the crock. This will definately be a repeat recipe for me.

This was awesome. Everyone loved them some mashed potatoes last night. I did as others suj. and added Garlic and Herb Cream Cheese, garlic salt, oregano, Italian Cheese Blend and put a clothe over the pot before I put the lid on to catch the condensation off the lid. I will never make any other mashed potatoes again.

I love this recipe!! I have been using it for holidays for a few years now and I'll never go back. No more sweaty mashing of the potatoes while trying to get everything on the table at the last minute. These are hot and ready when you are!! Thank you so much for this recipe.
