I don't use the slow cooker. I just make these on the stovetop while my meat dish is cooking. These are the only kind I make now. Regular potatoes are just bland mush after eating these!

These are absolutely my favorite mashed potatoes to make for a crowd...so very easy to do ahead of time. I made them the night before, according to another post, and they still turned out fabulous, despite my doubts! Thanks for passing this one along...

Pretty good, but mine turned out really dry - which surprised me because so many other reviews said their's got soggy. The flavor was really good, though, so I will definitely try it again.

Delicious! I also did not use the slow cooker, and I used reduced fat sour cream, reduced fat garlic and herb cream cheese, and 1/4 cup of butter, just to cut the calories a little. Oh, and I omitted the garlic in the cooking water since the cream cheese had garlic in it already. It did not reduce the great taste of these potatoes however, and I think this is such a keeper! My husband and kids all raved, these are so good! Will definitely be making them again!

Heavenly! I first made these when I hosted my first Thanksgiving last year & have made them several times since. At first I was worried that the crock pot would turn the potatoes too mushy or gummy, but they've been perfect every time. Depending on what I'm serving these with, I tend to omit the garlic. Regardless, I will never need another mashed potatoes recipe again!

I can't really rate this recipe because of my own fatal mistake. Please learn from me and DO NOT make these too far ahead of time. I made these at 8:00a.m.(thankful to get them out of the way and concentrate on my guests and the rest of dinner) and served at 3:30. Instead of gorgeous mashed potatoes I served a soupy starchy paste. waah! I will try again though. They sounds wonderful.

I consider myself a mashed potato connoiseur and these are great - hard to mess up! I have made the version with garlic/chive cream cheese as well and they turn out great.

Thank you so much for this recipe! It was a huge hit with my in-laws for Mother's Day! I didn't add enough salt but that was my own fault. I made them the day before and they were fantastic!

I was SO hesitant about trying this recipe. I am glad I did though. Made it as is for my father-in-law's visit and it was a hit! My husband ate so much of them he was ill. :-) I love, love, loved the ease and hotness of having the potatoes in the slow cooker! No more big mess right at dinner and no more cold spuds! Thnak you for the recipe! Oh and I did the towel under the crock pot lid and it worked quite well.

These are the best mashed potatoes I have ever had. I made them for Thanksgiving and told my mom she was about to have to have the best mashed potatoes ever. She said no way hers were the best, after she ate them she agreed with me. At Christmas I made them for friends and told them they were the best ever. My friend told me I was wrong that his mom's were, again he agreed with me after he ate them. Thank you so much for this recipe. It has become a family favorite.
