No, frozen chicken does not make the difference in this recipe. I tried frozen chicken breasts and cutting the lemon juice with water but it was still too sour. The garlic aroma was great but just too sour for any of us to eat it.

FROZEN chicken is the tip. You would HAVE to use frozen chicken so the chicken is not to be so strong with the lemon and wine and the water from defrosting during cooking is released into the cooking liquid and reduces its strentgh. Reduce the wine to 1 cup and lemon to 1/2 cup. I thickened with a roux and it was fine.

Way too lemony tasting. My house smelled good after cooking this recipe all day; however, I could barely eat a quarter of a chicken breast. I will definitely not be adding this recipe to my favourites collection!

The chicken was extremely dry! I think it might work if the cooking time was less than 6 hours. I don't think I will use this recipe again.

this was awful. I consider myself a good cook, but my family was really disappointed with the dryness and the taste of this recipe. Not to mention the waste of food and ingredients. I had to scramble to fix something else. I do not reccomend this recipe.

this was one of the best and easiest chicken recipes. it is hard to believe others have said differently. i recomend: disregard them and try it. th e liqiud makes great rice.

Wonderful recipe. We made a whole crock pot full and ate them for a week! The wine and lemon juice is a great liquid to cook in.

I wonder if the measurments are correct because the amount of wine and lemon used is far too much. Very bitter and overpowering, especially for being cooked all day in a slow cooker, you need a more delicate sauce for the chicken to stew in.

This chicken has the worst taste! My husband and I each took one bite and threw the entire rest of the meal away. We waited all day for this chicken our dogs wouldn't even eat. Way too much wine...very bitter taste. What a waste!

Well, when I read the recipe I thought, "whoa, dude, way too much wine and way too much garlic!" However, I cooked it as instructed. It has an overpowering aroma while cooking which I found discouraging. Lost cause, I thought. But wait! After it was done, I refrigerated it for 1-1/2 days. Put some of the chicken in chicken salad, the rest in a chicken divan casserole. After refrigerating, guess what, this stuff is pretty good! Strong, complicated flavor. Next time, though, I will use about 1/2 the wine and 2/3 the garlic. Maybe add a little water or broth instead. -Marty

I found there was too much liquid to this recipe. This made the chicken saturated with a wine and lemon taste. The chicken fell apart and the end result was a soupy mess.
