This was good and healthy! We used Rotel diced tomatoes with chiles instead of the tomato puree, and we used ground turkey instead of beef. It had a mild chile flavor, and reminded us of soup. Served with corn bread. Yummy!

When the time was up in the crockpot and I took the taste test, I wish I would have not added the liquid from the beans and used tomato sauce instead. I just wasn't thrilled how my chili turned out sort of "syrupy." So I added some tom. sauce and more chili powder. After that, it was more to my liking. However when I reheated it the next day, it was terrific!!!

I couldn't find cannelini beans so I replaced it with one more can of kidney beans. I didn't have hot pepper sauce so use chili pepper oil instead. Other than that I followed your recipe exactly as shown and all I can say is, "WOW!" My family loved it and even I loved it and I am not a big chilli eater...until now! Very easy to make and great on the budget!

What a hit with the family! I've been searching for a chili recipe that's not too spicy and has some sweetness. On the advice of a previous review, I used pork & beans in molasses (2 cans) and just 1 can of kidney beans (drained) and omitted the cannellini beans. I also added extra garlic, some mushrooms and increased the beef to 2 pounds. For our family of three, the left-overs didn't last past noon the next day!

...REALLY good flavor! I only had 1 can of kidney beans so I threw in a can of ranch and left out the cannellini...I used 2 cans of diced tomatoes that I put in the blender with the garlic. Slow cooked all day on low..served over tortilla chips and topped with cheddar cheese and sour cream...Next time I will double and freeze half. Really good chili!

My only changes were to use ground turkey and only one can of hot chili beans and triple the chili powder, and a little extra onion and garlic.

Wonderful and delicious. Added liquid smoke, just 2 drops Grated carrots 4. Canned mushrooms, sliced. Great also to cook on stove top for 25 minutes to 35 minutes. Add 1 cup small sea shell pasta or rice last 20 minutes of cooking. Bread dumpings are wonderful to serve with this excellent soup.

We loved it! Great Chili recipe. I only used one can of kidney beans and substituted a can of pinto beans for the cannellini. I increased the chili powder to 2 tablespoons and added a lot more red pepper sauce. Very good otherwise...

Loved by all, I used 3 cloves of garlic, substituted pinto beans for the cannellini beans and used 1 Tablespoon chili powder. I served this with the "Golden Sweet Cornbread" recipe found on this site. Will make again soon.

I made this for a set of new parents - froze half and left half in their fridge. They thought it tasted great, but my hubby thought it would have used more seasoning (hence the 4 stars). It was very easy to make in the crock pot. I used 1 1/3 lbs of ground beef, 28 oz can of whole tomatoes (ran a knife around in the can to rough chop them up) and pinto beans instead of cannelini beans (didn't think cannelini beans were in the true spirit of chili!)

This turned out sooo good! It simmered all day in the crockpot, and I served it with a dollop of sour cream and some cheddar cheese shredded on top, and buttermilk biscuits on the side! My family was very happy.

i really enjoyed this recipe. not a waterey dish- thick and beautiful! cut back on the hot sauce and added a can of beans and molasses. added a touch of sweetness to it. I will be making this again. there is quite alot of beans in this recipe- i did add another pound of ground beef to balance it out.

This was good chili from the crock pot. The only suggestion or change I would make is to add a little more spice. My family likes chili spicy. I will make again.

My fiance and I loved this chili, but I changed a few things... I used ground turkey rather than ground beef, omitted celery, and used one can kidney beans and one can black beans with liquid rather than the beans recommended. Also served over small pasta shells... outstanding!
