I have been looking for an easy and successful chicken and dumpling recipe for a while. This is it! I finally had dumplings that were not only edible, but yummy! Everyone in my house loved it, and I have some picky eaters here!

Good recipe. I have never made traditional chicken and dumplings, so for me, this was a first. It was tasty, but I would use a little bit less biscuit dough (or maybe add a little more water/chicken broth). Overall, I would make this again.

This is FANTASTIC!!! my WHOLE family LOVED it!! I used 2 cans of cream of chicken and used the chicken broth instead of water. I put in the dumplings an hour and a half before serving and they were perfect! This is SO SO SO SO GOOD!!! A KEEPER for our family!!!

4 stars as written, but 5 stars with modifications suggested by other reviewers, namely (1) only use one can of biscuits; (2) cover with chicken broth instead of water; (3) cook biscuits for two hours, not 30 minutes; and (4) add pepper, cumin, and parsley to season. Overall, very easy and tasty recipe.

If I could give this 10 stars I would. I LOVED it and so did my husband. I had some friends over for our annual winter food swap...I had this cooking on the counter...every one of them commented on how delicious it smelled. This was the best thing I have ever made in my slow cooker. I even had a friend of mine stop by this morning to pick some up for lunch! I read the other reviews and made some changes...I used 2 cans of cream of chicken soup and half a can of cream of celery. I also used chicken breast tenderloins and added them frozen. This made a huge difference. By the time it was done...the chicken was just falling apart. I added 1 jar of chicken gravy and 1/2 can of chicken broth. It looked like a bit too much liquid but when I added the dumplings, it thickened right up. Also, instead of tearing the dough for the dumplings, I flattened the dough out and cut it into strips and added them the last hour of cooking. I also added ground pepper, garlic powder and onion owder and served it with a sprinkle of paprika. This is definitely a keeper. Perfect food for the fall and winter!!

This was really good. I like dumplings, but my family does not like the texture of bread cooked this way so, next time I make this I am going to try egg noodles.

MM MM GOOD. Gr8 recipe, one I will make again and again. I used a cream of Chicken & Mushroom for the base, 3 large frozen chicken breast, covered with water and added a large chicken bouillon cube. Seasoned with parsley, salt & pepper, dried minced onion & garlic. Cooked high for about 3.5 hrs. Added a can of corn, frozen peas & carrots, and added the can of biscuits, continued cooking for 90 min. Shredded my chicken, but before adding it back to the crock pot I thickened the broth up with some cornstarch and water. It was so good and Yummy. Only thing I would do different next time is make my own drop dumplings, as someone else posted here the dumplings are more like a noodle then a true dumpling. Other then that it was all good and worth the 5 stars. After a afternoon in the rain at the pumpkin patch this was such a comfort to come home to.

Mine turned out way to thick. Had to keep adding water, but it never would thin.

This recipe is amazing. I cook it a little different every time. Most of the time it ends up with me using 1 can of Cream of Chicken soup, and one can of Cream of Celery, with Chicken broth to top it off. The best Chicken and dumpling recipe ever.....

Ahhhh....perfection. This was the easiest recipe ever - and sooooo good! I did add some frozen veggies in when I added the biscuits. I used only one small package of biscuits based on previous reviews, as well as used chicken broth in the place of the water. Sprinkled some garlic powder, Mrs Dash and pepper in the beginning and that is all. Too good to be so easy! My husband asked that I make this a permanent part of my meal rotation. As easy as it is, it is my pleasure to do so. :-) Thanks!

The dumplings were awesome! I used chicken broth instead of water, and it came out a little salty. I will stick with the original recipe next time. Very good.

Very good recipe. My husband loved it and so did my two year old son who will not eat unless there is cheese involved. I was nervous about using packaged biscuit dough, but the dumplings turned out great. I let the dumplings cook for slightly over an hour and they were perfect. I followed other's advise and seasoned the chicken first which added a lot of flavor. Will definately make this again!

Not as good as all the raves - the biscuits didn't cook all the way through, and tasted like canned biscuits (I don't know why I expected something different, but I did).

I have made this a few times now. We love it!! This is just as good as Grandmas with the homemade dumplings, but a whole lot easier. I did cook the biscuits longer than stated in the recipe. I also added a few frozen carrots. And just as a side note, Another time we took this on a trip with us to a hotel and we knew we would be gone most of the day so I baked some biscuits before we left and just served this over the top of them and YUMMM!!! It's good no matter what.

Very good. I do miss the vegetables that are usually in chicken and dumplings, though- next time I'll experiment a bit with adding vegetables at the end.
