This recipe is delish! The first time I made it I followed the reciped to a T. The house was filled with the aroma all day. Absolutely Heavenly! The second time I made it I must've done something wrong as my dumplings did not plump up. But the wonderful taste was still there. I'm sure the difference was in the type of Grands that I bought. As other reviews mentioned I did roll out my biscuits and cut them with a pastry cutter. Less mess & much easier. This recipe is a keeper!

The biscuits definitely needed about 2 hours to cook thoroughly. 30 minutes would not have been enough time.

The only thing I added to this recipe was salt and pepper. My husband and I loved this.

This was wonderful. I used two cans of Cream of Chicken soup and one 14.5oz can of chicken broth instead of the water as suggested by other reviewers. I used a Jamaican Jerk seasoning from McCormick's Gourmet Collection which along with some salt and pepper was all I added. Again, this was wonderful

this was simple and tasty! since i was a little confused about the chicken amount (i made it for 4 servings, and the chicken amount was listed as 2 breast halves), i used 2 whole chicken breasts. i don't think it was too much, but i love chicken and need lots of protein. i also added 10 oz of mixed veggies, followed the suggestion of reviewers to use chicken broth instead of water, and added parsley flakes/seasoned salt/poultry seasoning. i also cut the biscuit into strips (8 per biscuit), and the size of the dumpling turned out great. my boyfriend loved it and wanted a second helping. i will be making this again.

First, this is very bland without any additions...... for my taste buds. I added three cloves of fresh garlic another onion, fresh thyme and rosemary and some paprika . I will however make it again but I will sauté the onions and garlic first. I used chicken thighs rather than breasts and omitted the butter. I left the biscuits in rounds pushed them into the sauce and continued to cook for another two and a half hours for a total of eight hours on low. the biscuits were a lovely golden colour and cooked throughout.. All in all this was very good with the additions.Served with a crispy salad it was a good dinner.

I'll give it a 5 because it was a great starter recipe. I used chicken broth with the water. I didn't add onion(my pref). Biggest recomendation-don't add butter and use 1 can of grands bisquits and cook them for 2 hours

This was DELICIOUS!! My fiance raved about it. I used both cream of chicken & cream of mushroom, poultry seasoning, red pepper flakes, garlic salt & black pepper. It had tons of flavor! I also cooked mine on low for 8 hours then shredded the chicken & added 1 can of grands bisquits(2 would've been too many) and cooked 2 more hours on low. YUMMY!! The leftovers were just as good. I saw another review that said they weren't. Just reheat in the oven :)

Excellent & Simple! The guys especially loved it (my husband and dad) :) I used 1 family sized cream of chicken plus 2 cups chicken broth. Cooked on high for 4 hours, shredded chicken then added 1 1/2 cans biscuits - cooked another 1 1/2 hours on high. Just added a little salt, pepper & parsley.

This is very good~ This a great basic "base" to start with; unfortunately, I cant follow any recipe without my own little twists- I too added poulty seasoning, cumin, garlic powder, pepper & parsley. I was out of the refrig. biscuits, so I made my own VERY EASY dumplings.

Good recipe. I have never made traditional chicken and dumplings, so for me, this was a first. It was tasty, but I would use a little bit less biscuit dough (or maybe add a little more water/chicken broth). Overall, I would make this again.

4 stars as written, but 5 stars with modifications suggested by other reviewers, namely (1) only use one can of biscuits; (2) cover with chicken broth instead of water; (3) cook biscuits for two hours, not 30 minutes; and (4) add pepper, cumin, and parsley to season. Overall, very easy and tasty recipe.

If I could give this 10 stars I would. I LOVED it and so did my husband. I had some friends over for our annual winter food swap...I had this cooking on the counter...every one of them commented on how delicious it smelled. This was the best thing I have ever made in my slow cooker. I even had a friend of mine stop by this morning to pick some up for lunch! I read the other reviews and made some changes...I used 2 cans of cream of chicken soup and half a can of cream of celery. I also used chicken breast tenderloins and added them frozen. This made a huge difference. By the time it was done...the chicken was just falling apart. I added 1 jar of chicken gravy and 1/2 can of chicken broth. It looked like a bit too much liquid but when I added the dumplings, it thickened right up. Also, instead of tearing the dough for the dumplings, I flattened the dough out and cut it into strips and added them the last hour of cooking. I also added ground pepper, garlic powder and onion owder and served it with a sprinkle of paprika. This is definitely a keeper. Perfect food for the fall and winter!!

This was really good. I like dumplings, but my family does not like the texture of bread cooked this way so, next time I make this I am going to try egg noodles.

MM MM GOOD. Gr8 recipe, one I will make again and again. I used a cream of Chicken & Mushroom for the base, 3 large frozen chicken breast, covered with water and added a large chicken bouillon cube. Seasoned with parsley, salt & pepper, dried minced onion & garlic. Cooked high for about 3.5 hrs. Added a can of corn, frozen peas & carrots, and added the can of biscuits, continued cooking for 90 min. Shredded my chicken, but before adding it back to the crock pot I thickened the broth up with some cornstarch and water. It was so good and Yummy. Only thing I would do different next time is make my own drop dumplings, as someone else posted here the dumplings are more like a noodle then a true dumpling. Other then that it was all good and worth the 5 stars. After a afternoon in the rain at the pumpkin patch this was such a comfort to come home to.
