For ease of preparation, I would give this recipe 5 starts. But we are also rating on taste, so I must give it 4 stars for saltiness. WAY too salty for me. I don't even know if they make low sodium cream of chicken, but I think next time I'll use one can only and add milk.

Added pepper, a little cumin and seasoning salt. Had made this once before and it can be a little salty so I went heavier on the pepper. I was making it for a crowd so I used 5 big breasts and 2-12 oz pkgs of dough. It was great. Big hit with everyone!

Loved this... alot of people commented it didnt taste like homemade, and im assuming thats because of the biscuits being out of a can. there are plenty of good biscuit recipes on this site though, that could easily be used in this recipe... I for one wouldnt change a thing, and thought this was great tasting "comfort food" and its best!!

Outstanding! I just used this recipe to make my FIRST EVER meal of chicken and dumplings! My mom had shoulder surgery and will be unable to do a lot of things (i.e. cooking) for quite some time. So I've been doing a lot of cooking. Since we're all busy with work, church, and other stuff, I wanted something quick and easy and based on the reviews...I had to try this one. IT IS SO YUMMY! I'm eating a plate as I review. I followed the recipe to the letter, except I added chicken broth to the mixture. I seasoned the chicken with salt-free seasoning and pepper. I put it in the slow cooker before church this morning and by the time I came home, the chicken was so tender that it was breaking apart w/the spoon! I was so excited! Then I added the torn biscuit pieces (I used Pillsbury's buttermilk biscuits) about 45 mins before I was ready to serve. I also added peas. I was hesitant to add anything extra but my mom convinced me and I saw on here that others add ingredients. This was SO EASY and SO DELICIOUS! The true test will be when my dad eats some. If he goes to sleep about an hour later, I'll know I've done good =)

Like everyone else I added more veggies, including mushrooms, carrots, and celery. There were no leftovers unfortunately.

This was a great recipe after I changed it a bit. I added 1 can of chicken broth in place of the water to start off. I also used three whole chicken breasts that I cubed. I used about a tsp of Onion Powder and a tablespoon of parsley into the liquid mixture. About 3 hours into cooking everything on high, I tore off strips of about a tube and a half of grands biscuits and added a can of corn (drained) and a small package of mushrooms and let the mixture cook for another 2 hours. It was a hit!

This is very good and easy to make. The recipe call for 2 cans of cream of chicken and accidentally I opened a can of cream of mushroom. My family are not a big fan of chicken dumpling, but they love it and it will be in our family dinner list. I used frozen chicken breast and add little bit of chicken stock too.

Not a very good recipe. I followed directions perfectly and was not impressed. The chicken was very tender and it tasted ok on its own. I added the dough like the recipe called for and thats where it all kind of went bad. The dough didnt cook in the 30 minute time and it all clumped together making one big mess. I used the Pilsbury brand biscuits. I won't make this again.

This was really good and super easy. I followed some of the other reviews and did the following: Added one can of chicken broth instead of water, 2 cups of frozen veggies (corn, peas, and green beans), and Cumin, Parsley, Pepper, Garlic Powder and Poultry Seasoning. I added one 16 oz can of large buttermilk biscuits. WOW! Simple and delicious, and I definitely will make again. Thanks for the recipe.

I added a few more seasonings; pinch of thyme, dash of celery salt, & pinch of black pepper. Used dark & white chicken. Saved broth I cooked it in to add to cooker instead of water. We loved it!

Great flavor! I added lots of spices as others did. I would only use one can of biscuits next time...maybe even try flour tortillas instead. I also added a large can of mixed veggies as others suggested. Will make again. I also used frozen chicken breasts and they did very well...didn't need extra time for them either.
