Decent flavor but the dumplings were doughy. Won't make it again.

What a comforting easy recipe! My husband especially loved this! I only used one roll of dough, and it was the perfect amount. Thanks!

Followed recipe (mostly) and added a bag of baby carrots. Put torn biscuit pieces in 3 hours before done per other reviews. I really liked it, but thought it was bland. I'll probably make again with celery, carrots, pepper, garlic powder, and some other seasonings. Oh, and I only used can of biscuits and it was PLENTY!

WOW! This is such a tasty recipe! :) I can't think how someone would not rate this with 5 stars. I too, changed things a bit based on other reviewers. I used 1 can of cream of chicken and 1 can of cream of celery soup and chicken stock instead of water. I also added 1 can of mixed vegetables and 1 can of corn. The sweetness of the corn is very obvious and delicious. I also made sure to use some poultry seasoning, garlic powder, black pepper and some red pepper flakes. I also used boneless chicken thighs and 1 can of reduced fat Grands biscuits. I am THRILLED with how this recipe turned out, and of course my house smelled scrumptious all the while it was cookiing. Thank you!!!!!!

Very good if you like "bisquick" dumplings. I live alone so decreased recipe to 2 servings & used very small slow cooker. I also added finely minced celery & carrots. It was very tasty!

I had made this for a dinner party. It was terrible. But my guests said they enjoyed it. It just had an overwhelming taste of onion.

Excellent basic recipe. I followed the advice from the other reviewer's and added 1 can of chicken broth, spices to suit our families taste and mixed veggies. This is definately a keeper!

Great chicken and dumplins! I halfed the recipe and made a few small changes...didn't have an onion so I used onion powder, instead of all water I used one cup of water and 2 cups of chicken broth, and I added black pepper and garlic powder. Cooked on LOW for 6 hours, then turned to HIGH for 30min when I added the biscuits. I rolled each biscuit flat, then cut each into 6 pieces. Before you add the biscuits it looks like there is alot of liquid, but the biscuits absorb some of it and make it thicker...mine turned into the perfect consistency. I will definitely make this again!

We really enjoyed this! Not quite the true chicken and dumplings, but much easier and still tasty! Next time I make this, I won't use as much of the bisquit dough.

Such a wonderful simple dish to make. A great comfort food. I also substituted the water with 1 (14oz) can chicken broth as others have suggested. The dumplings are so yummy.

LOVED IT, so good and sooo much easier than cooking a whole chicken and cooling it and shredding the meat, I bought chicken breast tenderloins that i seasoned with salt pepper garlic I used chicken broth instead of water and also added about 1/4 cup white wine just cuz i had it on hand, and also cooked biscuits for about 2 hours, I will make this over and over

My family LOVED this recipe! After reading others reviews, I made several alterations but this recipe is a great starting point. I used 2 cans of cream of chicken soup... however the alterations I made were: a) seasoned chicken before using (paprika, garlic powder, salt & pepper and cumin) and left the chicken breasts whole (keep in moisture) b) I didn't dice an oinion, I added shallots instead which I sliced in half (this is good if you have any fussy oinion haters like my 9 year old but still want some oinion flavor) c) I added frozen peas, canned corn and baby carrots cut into two. Somebody mentionned that adding veggies doesn't make it as good due to the consistency but mine turned out awesome (like a chicken stew) with veggies in it and finally - d) I didn't use refrigerated biscuit dough because I didn't have any so I made a very simple home-made dumplings (I looked up "easy dumpling" recipe and found something that took two minutes to throw together). I put the dumplings in for an hour before serving and they turned out great! The family thought this was the definition of comfort food and I know we will be enjoying this one several times throughout the cold winter months. Enjoy!
