I thought it tasted like raw onion soup. I would saute the onion first or leave it out. Wished that I would have read the reviews about substituting the chicken broth for beer. Was to spicy for the kids to eat and I used the mild taco seasoning and the mild rotel tomatoes with green chiles

Very good, this was my first soup I've made in a crockpot & it was great! It did turn out pretty spicy though, I think next time I might use just one can of the tomatoes w/chili's & then 1 other can of plain tomatoes to make it a little milder.

So easy to make and it tastes good, too! Will definitely be making again. Substituted chicken broth for the beer.

Absolutely wonderful-- I am always on the look out for good crock pot recipes, since they are so easy to make, and this is by far one of the best! We used store bought taco seasoning and substituted chicken broth for the beer, topped with shredded cheese, sour cream and tortilla chips- perfect!

This was a good recipe i think if i was to make it again i may use left over chicken instead of using just bought chicken not to say it went to waste cuz it didn't but this would be a good recipe for leftovers

I knew it had to be excellent to have so many good reviews. The only thing I changed was the diced tomatoes with green chilies - I can't for the life of me find these in CDN grocery stores, so I used a chunky salsa - still tasted great! I added sour cream, cheese and minced jalapeños. YUM. Oh, I also shortened my cooking time - 2 hours on high, 3 on low and in the last hour I shredded the chicken which fell apart basically on its own. Thanks for a great hearty and healthy recipe!

VERY yummy. Children liked it because it wasn't TOO spicy, but adults could add a couple dashes of hot sauce to spice things up.

My Dad found this to cook with his brand new crock pot. Now it's one of the family favorites! We've taken it on work team trips and potlucks and never have any left over.

Fabulous! Family chowed a double batch down. I added two cups of water as it was a bit too salty for me and one cup of chicken stock. I did use the beer as I really like to cook with it. Also increased the chicken and cut it into chunks before I cooked it.

i was very happy with this one. for chili beans, i used kidney beans...im assuming that was what was meant. definitely dont skip the beer. i used bud. doubled it for a large party, and had no leftovers. i made jalapeno cornbread to go with it. (homesteader cornbread recipe from this site w/ jalapenos added to batter.)

This was a wonderful dish and can't wait to make it again. With some of the left overs I made Nachoes. Just melted cheese over the top with a splash of sour cream. Yum!

My husband made us this soup yesterday and we *LOVED* it. He followed the recipe as written, not changing a single thing. He didn't top his with sour cream, but I did. I made homemade tortilla chips. This recipe is a keeper! *SO* easy, delicious, and cheap to make!!

This is the best soup. I did not use beer, instead I used chicken broth. It was hit at my party.

This was great! Exactly how you would want it to taste! We ate it two nights in a row even, we couldn't get enough and it was even better the 2nd night! We topped it with fritos, sour cream and cheese! Yum! Thanks!

This was easy and great. I dumped all the ingredients in the crock pot and let it cook for 5 hours. Mine was done then and I didn't need for it to cook the extra two hours. I think my crock pot cooks faster than most. Easy and delicious!

I love this recipe! So easy to make and adjust to your tastes. I've done it with and without the beer, and have used different types of beer. It's good either way.

I used 12oz of chicken broth instead of beer. I drained only the corn and made it exactly like the recipe. It was delicious! I topped it off with sour cream, cheese and crushed tortilla chips. I won't change any part of it when I make it again, except the broth for the beer. Will make again and again!
