Slow Cooker Broccoli Beef

  1. Crumble beef bouillon cube into warm water in a bowl and stir to dissolve; add soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, and sesame oil and stir to dissolve sugar.
  2. Put beef strips into a slow cooker crock. Pour sauce mixture over the beef.
  3. Cook on Low for 6 to 8 hours (or on High for 4 hours).
  4. Spoon 2 tablespoons liquid from the slow cooker into a bowl. Whisk cornstarch into the liquid and stir the cornstarch mixture into the liquid in the slow cooker until consistent in color.
  5. Cook on High until the sauce thickens, about 30 minutes.
  6. Place a steamer insert into a saucepan and fill with water to just below the bottom of the steamer. Bring water to a boil.
  7. Cook broccoli in covered steamer until tender, 2 to 6 minutes; add to sauce in slow cooker and stir to coat.
  8. Ladle broccoli beef over portions of cooked jasmine rice and garnish with sesame seeds.

  • Cook's Note:
  • If sauce isn't thickening, it can be ladled out and cooked on a stove until reaching the desired thickness. Then return it to the slow cooker.

I was looking for an easy yet healthful dinner--this was it! The whole family enjoyed it. I did use beef stew meat--which made it even easier.

Super easy and delicious! I wish the sauce was thicker though

I followed the ingredients and directions EXACTLY except I used lower sodium soy sauce because that's all I ever use. This was still very salty. I think I would leave out the bouillion next time or use low sodium beef broth instead. Other than that, there are no adjustments needed. I will make this again.

My whole family loved this! I added more broccoli, water chestnuts & ginger.

Followed the recipe. I think it was good but salty. I will use less of the soy sauce next time around. Will definitely be making this again.

Yummmm-o! It was a hit at our table. Next time I am going to add water chestnuts, mushrooms and some red pepper flakes for a little heat

I didn't use 1/2cup soy sauce, bc people commented on it being salty. I used 1/4cup and it was delicious!!
