yum! for a healthier take, sub greek yogurt (usually in the organic section at the grocery store) for the cream cheese. I suppose you could sub regular yogurt too, but greak yogurt isn't sweet at all and tastes much truer to sour cream/cream cheese. this was a great recipe. thanks!

This recipe is great! I used cubed venison steak since we have so much of that and it tasted wonderful! I added 3 cloves of garlic and 1/4 tsp each salt and pepper. Per other reviews I also sauteed about 4 oz of fresh mushrooms to go on top. I will definitely make this again.

Super easy way to make Stroganoff. I added one packet of Lipton onion soup mix and sauteed the onions with some sliced mushrooms and added them to the slow cooker 30 minutes before serving. Yum!

Really delicious with the changes suggested by Jillybean. I used Beef Broth instead of boullion cube and waited until the end to add salt as I wasn't sure how salty this would be. I did add more pepper and salt at the end. I also used 1 cup of sour cream instead of cream cheese. I'll definitely make this again.

We LOVED this recipe. I used half cream cheese and half sour cream, and I used boneless beef short ribs which turned out SO GOOD. They were tender and shredded perfectly. Great dinner. Thanks!

I've been making this for a couple of years now and just love it! So tasty for being so simple. I like to use frozen meatballs instead of stew meat for something different (and faster!).

Very good. I browned meat first & then put in cooker. I used sour cream but just put a dollup on top, otherwise it melts in the sauce. Had green beans , egg noodles & salad. I will print this out as it is a saver. I rate this a 5.

This recipe is absolutely delicious. After leaving the first part of the recipe all day in my crock pot I walked up to the door wondering who in the neighborhood had the great smelling food. Once I opened my door, I was very excited to see that it was me. I added just a little bit of milk at the same time as I added the cream cheese. So good, hmmm, hmmm.

This was really delicious and so easy to put together. I substituted the golden mushroom soup (don't have in the UK) with cream of mushroom soup and added a tin of sliced mushrooms which i previously sauteed in a little butter. Have cooked this several times now and my husband loves it. Thank you Jessica! Oh, also added sherry instead of water as recommended by another reviewer.

Awesome. Will cook again. Did take others advice,2 cans of golden soup, broth instead of water, added onion soup mix, bullion cube and some fresh mushrooms. Also a bit of sour cream when I added the cream cheese. Delish over egg noodles.

This was a very good stroganoff. Put the cream cheese and 1/4 cup sour cream in 1 hour before done and it was not lumpy or watery. One reviewer said to make it with golden mushroom soup or don't make it at all. I absolutely could not find golden mushroom soup, so used cream of mushroom and it tasted great.

My daughter and I give this a 5-star rating because of how yummy it is and how easy it is to make! We put it over rice - it's one of our new favorite "comfort" foods! Definitely a keeper.

This was soooo good!! I made this on the stove because I saw this recipe today at about 4pm and just had to have it! I did as other reviewers suggested and doubled the water and soup, added 1/2 packet of onion soup mix and 1/4c sour cream. I browned the meat and onion, added the remaining ingredients (except the cream cheese and sour cream) and let it simmer for 15 min. I then removed from heat, stirred in cream cheese and sour cream and served over hot noodles... Yummy!!!!!!!!

With reviews 5 stars++!! YUM!! In crock-pot combine meat, golden mushroom soup, onion, Worcestershire, water, and bouillon cube. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic. Cook on LOW setting for 6 hours. During the last hour of cooking, stir in cream cheese and a large dollop of sour cream. Sauté mushrooms in butter and set aside. Cook noodles and drain water. Serve stroganoff over egg noodles and top each serving with the sautéed mushrooms.

I thought it watery and like another reviewer said, the cream cheese clumped and didn't melt. Will try again but will do it with the sour cream instead and less liquidy.

For some reason, this recipe came out watery, and the cream cheese never seemed to melt properly in the mixture. It was more like cream cheese clumps in a watery stew. Maybe cream would have worked better. It just didn't work for me.
