Absolutely loved this dish. I would give it 6 stars if I could. I took the other reviewers suggestions into consideration before preparing. I used the two cans of soup as directed, instead of two cans of water I used 1 1/2 and 1/2 beef broth. The last 2 hours I sauteed the fresh mushrooms in a tablespoon of butter and sprinkled garlic powder over them and then added them into the crock pot. Finally, I used 3 tablespoons of cornstarch to make it just a little thicker gravy. A keeper in the favorites - I will definitely make this one again!.Thank you!

Cream cheese is not Stroganoff, sour cream is. Traditionally made Stroganoff tastes MUCH better and is not that much harder, it just takes a more expesive cut of meat. Not a saver for us.

This is THE stroganoff recipe!! I added the cream cheese with the other ingredients to start and it didn't make any difference. I also added beefy onion dry soup mix and a boullion cube and a dollop of sour cream at the end with the noodles. This was the best stroganoff I've ever had and amazing comfort food!

I give a four stars but with some adjustments it is a 5 star. I made changes that JillyBean14 summarized from other posts. Turned out great.

We did not like this at all. It didn't have much flavor for us. Just wasn't what we were looking for.

This was really good, double the meat, the soup, and the water, add half pkg dry onion soup mix, I didn't use onion because of that, I added a small can of mushrooms and served over buttered egg noodles. The sauce could be a little thicker but it was very good, only needs to cook on LOW for 5 hours. I used 4 oz of ONLY sour cream, no cream cheese. Def a good dish with these changes!

This recipe was fantastic using JillBean14's and Momsavedbygrace's modifications. I did add salt, pepper and garlic powder to the floured meat before I browned it. I Mixed 1 Tbs. cornstarch in 2 Tbs. cold water and added that, then put in the sour cream and cream cheese. The sauce thickened up very nicely after about half an hour on high. Will make again and again!

Another good recipe! Use 2 1/2 pounds of stew meat, two cans of golden mushroom soup and one can of beef broth. Browned the meat (used a little flour, garlic powder and salt and pepper to coat) and sauteed the onions before putting it in the slow cooker. Very tasty for a little effort.

This was ok. I followed Jillian's recommendations, and although it turned out ok and was very easy to put together I probably will look for another recipe to try as well. I did, because of time, have to cook on high..will try again one day cooking all day and see if it is better!
