My husband called this "delicious," and he has never used that word to describe my cooking! Great, easy recipe!

The reviews about this stew are right on the money. The deglazing was worth it. I've made many-a-beef stew in my day, but I think this was my best one ever.....

Even better than I expected! I used the Mccormick seasoning packet for slow cooker stew, added some of the seasonings the recipe asks for. Trust this recipe!

This was great! I have to say that beef stew has been a staple with me, I make it quite often during the fall and winter. I have always followed my Mom's lead and browned the beef before hand. This time I didn't. I pretty much followed the recipe exact, except added more carrots, no celery or bay leaf, a bit of extra seasoning and used 3 lbs of beef. I like this so much better than the way I have always done it! Plus, it makes it much healthier when you don't pre-cook the meat in any kind of oil. It thickened up nicely. I am very, very happy with this!

I followed the advice to use beef stew seasoning instead of individually adding spices, and I skipped the garlic, only because I didn't want to smell like garlic at work. It was SO easy and SO fabulous! Absolutely perfect stew with very little effort.

I added many more vegetables because when I looked in my crockpot it looked veggie-barren. Doubled the veggies listed and next time I would add 1 more pound of stew meat to make it the perfect combination. Really good taste though-my husband hates veggies/stew and even he liked this one.

As is the recipe is just alright, but if you follow the advice of many of the reviewers it's a fantastic recipe. I've tried making it in the slow cooker, and on the stove, and personally, I think this tastes better NOT slow cooked.

Very good basic stew. It's tastey just as the recipe goes, and leaves a lot of room for not very experienced cooks to play around with. My suggestion would be to have fun and get a bit creative with it.

This was really good. I'm not one that jumps up and down for beef stew, but this was great! I will make it again for the family. I did make a few adjustments though. I was out of beef stock, so used a package of dried beef onion soup. I also used frozen mixed veggies, just added in the last hour or so of cooking. Wonderful on a chilly day!

Made the recipe as instructed but increased wocestershire sauce to 1 TABLEspoon and omitted the celery. Was super good! Next time I think I'll leave out the onion and add dry onion soup mix instead.

I have never made beef stew before, but my husband has been begging for it, so i tried this recipe and he absolutely loved it. Said it was the best stew he as ever had. The only thing i did different was added an extra 1/2 lb of beef, cause he likes alot of meet.

We loved this dish overall. I was quite distressed because I followed the 10-12 cooking hour suggestion even though I added an extra cup of water thinking 10-12 hours needed more water not like the recipe suggested. I left the slow cooker unattended (that is the beauty of slow cookers...) and when I came back to check on it around hour 7 must of the meat was not in cubes but kind of melted in to the dish. The taste was fabulous and easy to make but beware of the time or add more water and adjust the seasonings to the dish. I am pretty experienced cooking with slow cookers. I will make this recipe again like suggested but only 6 hours in low. That is the reason I will give it 4 rather than 5 stars

Perfect recipe as is! It is easier to put the flour mixture in a ziploc bag and toss the meat. This is a keeper!

Fantastic stew! I made it with a packet of McCormik beef stew mix and some red wine. But other than that I followed the recipe. I will make this again.
