My husband and I enjoyed this alot, but our 10 year old didnt seem to care for it so I gave it 4 stars, only because I know I will have to prepare something different for him when we have it again.

This recipe is easy and delicious. I used Cattlemen's Honey BBQ sauce and it came out great. We placed a slice of provolone cheese on the roll before adding the beef. The hot beef melted the cheese and it really made it tasty! Everyone in my family, including a 7 and 5 year old, enjoyed this meal.

Not quite sure what happened with this recipe, but we didn't like this at all. The meat wasn't tender enough after 8 hours & the BBQ sauce tasted bland & almost burnt (I used Sweet Baby Rays - one of my favorites!). If I make this again, I'll cook the roast in beef broth w/onion & spices all day, shred the beef and then add BBQ sauce at the very end.

This was very good. When I took the meat out to shred it, I removed the fat before placing it back into the crockpot and that made my husband very happy. I will try it with a honey bbq sauce next time (not a store brand original) but it was still very tasty. We served it on rolls and it was messy so we will serve it without rolls and with sides next time too.

My wife and I loved this. We added a half a corsely chopped onion and a bell pepper for the last hour and we added about a Tablespoon of dijon and and a couple teaspoons cayanne pepper at the begining for a little spice. Surely a keeper.

This was very good. I used KC Masterpiece Original BBQ sauce and a little bit of Baby Ray's when I ran out of KC. My husband loved it. It tasted pretty good to me too, though I didn't get my own sandwich because my husband hounded it. :o)

Made this last night. I used rump roast instead of the chuck roast. The only other thing I changed was: after shredding the meat..I added 1/2 bottle more of BBQ sauce. (I left original juices in crockpot too.) This made for a whole lot of sauce! I won't add it next t ime. I used Sweet Baby Rays Honey BBQ sauce. But I like sweeter sauce so may look for an alternative. It turned out REALLY good though. Nice and tender. It really does not need a lot of "tweaking," but everyone has their own tates. It was quick and simple, too! I'll just experiment w/ different sauces.

Very good - although I suspect that it all depends on what bbq sauce you use - if you like the sauce, you'll like this dish.

There is a lot of great flavor for such a simple recipe, and the cooking method softens up the chuck roast wonderfully. There is a lot of grease from the roast, which makes for some pretty soupy barbecue, however that's to be expected from this cut of meat. As many others have noted, draning the "cooking sauce" and adding a fresh bottle of barbecue sauce for the last hour would yield a thicker, more traditional sauce for the meat. A quick easy meal that's filling and makes the house smell great - thanks!

Very good! I used an eye round roast due to its leanness, but I think a different kind of roast or even pork would have been more tender. Like other reviewers, I drained the juice out after 7-8 hours, sliced the roast, added another bottle of bbq sauce, and cooked it on low another 2-3 hours. It made great sandwiches!
