Recipe by Cheryl King
"When you're planning a party, and your oven is going to be full, try this party mix in the slow cooker. Tastes as good but doesn't take up oven space!
You may make a larger batch, but cooking time will need to be increased.
If you like your bar-b-que party mix more bar-b-q-y, try increasing the liquid by 1/2 or double. Keep in mind that doing this may increase cooking time. Serve immediately or store in air tight containers."

I only made one change--I used vegetable oil instead of butter. I chose to bake this in the oven instead of use my crockpot. Baked at 250*, I let this bake for an hour, stirring every fifteen minutes. I did not try this myself but the kids RAVED about it. They ate half a batch in one sitting!
I did not care for this recipe. Came out too mushie--even tried to
broil in the oven to get rid of sogginess--didn't
I wanted to love this recipe. However, I found that the cereal just wasn't as crispy as it is when baked in the oven, rather some of it was a little chewy. The barbecue flavor was good, but pretty light. I might try it again, but if I do I will bake it in the oven rather than using the slow cooker.
