Originally made this as written. It was okay and easy. A bit bland for us. The second time increased the onions to 2 onions, added garlic (more o/g is our preference) and added 1/2 can (tomato sauce can) of beef broth. Perfect!! Definitely a winner. This is a great basis for the slow cooker recipe. I gave four stars for the potential.

This was easy, quick and definitely got the job done. I did think though it needed more spices and flavor. Instead of adding more flour (for those of us watching the Carbs) I just added a little cornstarch mixed with water after everything was done cooking. Thickened up nicely. I definitely will try this again using some more spices

This recipe needs more flour. The sauce was very runny. I added some shredded carrot. Next time I will use 1/4 cup flour and add some basil, oregano, and garlic for more flavor. Meat was very tender and tasty, just needs a little sprucing up.

I used beef broth instead of tomato sauce and added garlic and baby carrots. Pretty good dish, though I don't know if I'll make it again or not.

I used the cheapest cut of beef I could find at my grocery store. I heeded the other opinions as far as blandness so I added garlic powder and red pepper flakes. I also used a can of diced tomatoes instead. This was exquisitely wonderful!

This turned out very well with a few minor tweaks. I added a couple tsp. of worchestershire sauce, some minced garlic and 2 tbls of brown sugar to cut the acid in the tomatoe sauce. Adding the brown sugar also gave it a sweet/sour taste that we love here. I also added baby carrots to the crockpot which added another level of flavour to the sauce. I served it over roasted baby potatoes but it would taste equally well with pasta in my opinion. Will make again with my changes as my hubby stated it was a keeper with those changes.

Pretty good! I added chopped garlic and it was still a little low on the flavor scale, but I enjoyed it. When I make it again I may add some other spices.

Made this last night and it was a big hit with my family. The steak was very tender and flavorful. I made three small changes in the recipe. First, I added an additional 2tbs. of flour in the coating process. Second, I added a drizzling of Worcestershire sauce to each steak portion for a little more flavor. Lastly, I did not have to cook it the full 8 hrs. in the crockpot....I noticed that after 6 the steak was tender and done, and as it continued to cook, the sauce began to dry up...so we ate an early supper and enjoyed it very much. Will make this again.
