This was ok. It neeeded something though.. salt, something. I used it for Ruebens though so it was fine for that, but I didn't like it just plain.

Excellent! I am glad I doubled the recipe so I had plenty of leftovers. I used Guinness and I did really like biting into a soft peppercorn for a kick, but next time will use 1/2 the amount as the pepper was too overpowering for younger taste buds. My mouth is still watering thinking about how good this tasted.

Fabulous recipe. Threw it in the crockpot for 8 hours. Used Heineken Beer. Will definitely make again.

I have made this so many times, I cannot imagine a better, easier recipe. It makes great sandwiches the next day! Even if you are not a corned beef lover, you should try this recipe at least once.

I made the recipe as is. I think it turned out really well. The only thing I wish is that it would slice thin, but otherwise, it had really good flavor. I made Grilled Corned Beef Sandwiches with Rye bread.

Oh... WOW! This is the first time I have made corned beef and I was amazed at how good this recipe is! And I didn't even add garlic (didn't realize I was out!) We had it the other night for dinner, and I'm already craving it again! Wish I had QUADRUPLED the recipe! Definitely adding this to the must-have for dinner rotation!

WOW! This is a good as the deli I used to go to for corned beef sandwiches! I only had one brisket, but kept all of the other measurments the same. I love the taste so much, I'm hoping my SO,who is from Mexico, might not like the taste so I can keep it all for myself! I laughed out loud with the reviewer who said they ate it on tortillas.... and I thought my house was mixed up! Ok, ok, I admit that I made the corned beef with Corona beer today.... Thanks so much for the fab recipe.... I will use it often!

My absolute favorite! I use pastrami when I can't find deli-sliced corned beef. So good!

What can I said that hasn't been said before? It was delicious and I'm sorry I didn't try it sooner. SDK, this is a jewel. I appreciate you sharing such a delightful and most importantly in my case, easy recipe that will be repeated over and over again.

You weren't joking when you said easy and make a lot! Those are both true statements! I used Guiness Draft beer, and seved it with pumpernickle bread and spicy brown mustard. We also made irish soda bread...Very fun and easy food--Oh the cabbage I cooked on the stove and in huge boiling pot with the left over juices. Yummy

I thought this recipe was just okay. I wasn't as crazy about it as everyone else is. I really prefer pastrami to corned beef but bought corned beef to have around St. Patty's day. I added the entire bulb of garlic and I'm not sure that it added any additional flavor, I could have just used 7 cloves and I think it would have imparted the same amount of flavor. I'll probably try a different recipe next time. Thanks for sharing !

I jointed just so I could rate the wonderful recipe. The meat is to tender and tastey it can't be beat. We are hooked on these sandwiches made with swiss

This was so great and so simple. We love corned beef but I always covered mine with water and the seasoning packet. This was by far soooo much better. My husband LOVED it and told me it was the best corned beef he's eaten:) Thanks.

This is basically the way I cook my corned beef every year with the exception of the garlic. I did add that this year and it was terrific! I add two bottles of beer to my corned beef every year and I swear it makes the difference. Don't be afraid to try it. If you don't want the alcoholic content, I would suggest using O'Douls Amber. It is a non alcoholic beer and is darker and richer than the regular O'Douls but you'll still get some of that beer taste and tenderization.

WOW!! I only had one 3 lb. brisket (unfortunately) so I halved the ingredients. Also, I used miller lite beer since that's all my hubby had! Followed everything else exactly and cooked in crock pot for six hours before adding cabbage and then cooked it until done. The beer, bay leaf and minced garlic really add another dimension of flavor to an already wonderful dish! This is SO yummy, I think I could eat the whole thing by myself!! :o) I'll never use another recipe for corned beef. Thanks so much!
