I never made or I guess really ate corned beef before. I didn't realize that I'm really not a fan of it. This recipe is a great recipe and my family really liked it. The only way I liked it was when I added coleslaw to the sandwich (made restaurant style coleslaw from this site, it was perfect). Otherwise I had to pass. Because it was pretty easy and everyone else thought it was great, I am giving it 5 stars. I wish I could have enjoyed it as much as everyone else though but thats my own fault, darn my taste buds. :(

This was so delicious. It was extremely easy! I just loved it. I made Reubens with it, and they were just so fresh and full of flavor! EXCELLENT! Easy and delicious what more can you ask for? Thanks!

I am NOT a corned beef person, but this recipe changed my opinion! I went from tasting corned beef maybe once a year on St. Patrick's Day to making this recipe once a month. I layer it with the "cola sauerkraut" recipe,(also on this website), a slice of swiss, and some Thousand Island dressing on some deli rye. Awesome, awesome, awesome! Can't say enough great things about this recipe....you really have to try it to believe it!

I've made this several times now, no alterations...perfection. I do strongly recommend using the liquid for carrots, potatoes, cabbage etc. while you let the meat rest a bit. Others in our family who *thought* they didn't like corned beef have definitely changed their minds! And we always wish we had made more!

This recipe is easy and the results are wonderful. I brought these sandwiches to a party and they were gone in no time at all. I considering putting 1000 island dressing or mustard on the sandwiches, but after tasting the meat I decided against it. The corn beef was so tasty that any condiment would just have distracted from the great taste of the corned beef.

I made this for some friends over St Pat's Day. They all thought I was nuts using so much garlic and peppercorn. It was fabulous, and I'm not a big fan of corned beef myself. This is the only corned beef recipe I'll be making from here forward.

I followed this recipe as best I could. My corned beef did not come with a seasoning packet, so I used pickling spice as another reviewer had done. I also used my slow cooker. I loved it. My DH said it was okay but he liked my way of cooking corned beef (pressure cooker) better and he said it had a strong bay leaf taste that he could have done without. I like the slow cooker method, saves me alot of work and I love spices so everything tasted great to me. 5 stars from me. I will make this again and use only one bayleaf next time.

I did this in the crock pot for St. Patty's. Don't make the mistake of making only 1 corned beef, because they shrink like crazy, and mine was super fatty. Make 2 like the recipe says. It was in the crock pot from 8:00 am to 6:00 PM, and was from the fridge when I started it.

Excellent! I've made this several times in the crock pot and also on the stove top. Garlic peeling tip: Soak separated cloves in water for about 1/2 hour and the skin peels off easily (snip the stem end off and peel down).

I thought it was an "ok" recipe, but would not be a favorite, or regular. Mine was a little on the salty side which could have been the corned beef itself. Happy cooking!

I'm giving this 5 stars. It was easy and delicious! This is a keeper for me. I made sandwiches; however, it would have made a wonderful dinner served with potatoes and cabbage. The meat was tasty and tender.
