I joined this forum just so I could rate this FANTASTIC recipe. I have used it several times and it is the only way I will make corned beef in the year's to come. The flavor is wonderful and it melts in your mouth. I can't believe something so simple can end up perfect every time.

I halved the recipe since I only had one brisket. I followed the recipe except I cooked it in a crock pot. I used a bottle of Shiner Bock beer (and yes, I teared up a little as I poured it into the pot). I cooked it on low for about 10 hours then refrigerated overnight. The next night I made Reuben sandwiches. The meat was really good, but not what I would consider Deli quality.

I tried corned Beef in Beer I used a bottle of Guinesses.I tested it out on some deli style corned beef. The Corned Beef flavor wasn't as flavored as I like that meat to be.After adding the meat to the beer in boiling water. The corned beef had no taste.I didn't want to waste a hole Brisket.I dont really see how this recipe could be good.I will not attempt this again.

I made this 2 weeks ago for my daughter and family, pretty much followed the recipe and it was excellent. we had Rubin's your way everyone made their own with 2 kinds of bread ,rye and 5 grain, thousand island dressing from the dairy section, boars head deli mustard , grilled onions ,sourkraut with beer, swiss and provolone cheese. I had the big griddle ready and with 8 people it went very fast

My husband couldn't stop raving about the taste of the corned beef. I cooked the potatoes, carrots & cabbage in the broth too and they were expceptional.

I didn't have a lot of time, so I cooked the brisket according the recipe for 4 hours on high in a crockpot, but it wasn't tender enough to serve, so I put it on low and went to bed. The next morning the smell was delicious and the meat was ultra tender! My husband at his with honey, but I loved it with spicy mustard and honey mustard. I'd never made it before, but I'll make it again! There were no leftovers after I served it to my family.

This was fairly flavorful. I don't know what it was that I did wrong but it turned out a bit dry.

After reading some reviews since it got 5 stars I decided to try it. I am giving it 4* because I am not a corn beef person but when I made it, my fiancee was raving and savoring it the whole time during dinner. He even said that I cooked it better than his mother :-). I only used 1 beer instead of 2 for a 5 1/2 lb meat. And added Onion but would skip it next time.

Made this over the weekend for a "football Sunday" dinner. It was fabulous. Everyone commented on the wonderful aroma and we all couldn't stop eating it. Served on rye with creamy mustard, and a NY deli style (vinegar-based no mayo) cole slaw. Mouth is watering again!

This recipe is AMAZING!! I did it in the crock pot after reading all the reviews. UNBELIEVABLE how delicious it was with so few ingredients. I did it more out of curiosity and I will do it over and over. Thanks for this one!

Perfect! Followed recipe but cooked in slow cooker. Used a local dark beer called Southern Pecan. Took this to a pot-luck and party. It was a big hit! I cannot recommend this enough!

So much more flavorful than cooking in water! I cooked one brisket in the crock pot on high 6 hrs. The final hour I added a bag of saurkraut and removed the meat. It was firm to slice. Made the best Reuben sandwiches ever - for me - on rye bread w/ cole slaw, saurkraut, melted swiss cheese and 1000 island dressing made from chili sauce and mayo. Huge hit during the football game. Thanks!

My father-in-law used to brine his own corned beef using eye of round. But my husband and mother-in-law thinks this is the best ever.

Wonderful Recipe. I made the corned beef in the crockpot, then took out and sliced it thin. When I topped the buttered bread with corned beef, saurkraut(Spelling is off I know)and swiss cheese, I baked it and then flipped it over with a pan the same size, so both sides would be browned. WOW, Did this get rave reviews? YES OH YES. Will make again soon. Great for a big croud.

I thought it was good, but have never made a corned beef before to compare it to. I tried it on a sandwich with brown mustard and thought it was good, but too rich. I thought it was much better after it was refrigerated then put on Reuben sandwiches. Also, I didn't enjoy eating it without bread.
