This was my first attempt at a homemade chili. It turned out very well and was even better as leftovers. Will definitely make this again.

So, while I do not like chili, my boyfriend loves it. So using the new crockpot we got, I decided to cook him some. He doesnt like tomatoes, so i omitted the diced tomatoes, and i only added one onion (no space left in the crockpot) and we forgot chili powder... but he said it was practically perfect. If it had had the chili powder, it couldnt have been better. Whats best? I cooked the meat while dicing the onion and pepper, etc, and made it the night before. The day after, i scooped it into different tupperware and put grated cheddar cheese on top. His coworker even tried a bit and said he was switching in his wife for a new one who would cook for him like this, haha.

This was wonderful. I increase all quantities and add about 2 tsp sugar, 1.5 tsp. cumin, and some green Tabasco sauce. I also add some extra kidney beans. Everyone who's tried this recipe loves it!

Makes a wonderful chili! A few minor changes- I only made it for two people so I cut the recipe in half. It doesn't have an abundance of flavor on its own, so I added another clove of garlic, crushed red pepper, and a whole lot more chili powder (didnt measure, just dumped!). I seasoned the meat heavily when browning. I also added 8oz. of tomato sauce per the other reviews saying it wasnt moist enough, and I think that did the trick. It has a wonderful dark, rich color and the house fills with the smell. I will make this one again!

My fiance and his study-buddies loved this chili. He's a vegetarian so I left out the beef. One of the cans of tomatoes had chili's in it and boy did that make the chili spicy! I little too much for me, which is why it only got four stars. I will probably be making this recipe all winter long.

I did not care for this recipe. It came out very thin and to me chili should be thick. I followed the recipe exactly as it was written. I will not make again. The photo is misleading.

Excellent recipe! I followed some of the suggestions of other reviewers and 7 other people loved this recipe! I added 1 tsp ceyenne pepper, 1 tbsp cumin, 1 extra tbsp chili powder, garlic salt instead of plain salt, green chilies and used 2 cans of tomato sauce and 1 can of water instead of diced tomatoes. My husband said he definitely wants this again!

Very easy and very good! Had plans for crockpot but got a call that family member had been in minor accident just as I was cooking meat. So by the time everything was cleared up and I was home again, I just made it on the stove. I added the cumin as suggested for little extra flavor. Appreciated that it was not spicy. Did need some more juice so I'll be using the larger can of sauce next time. Oh, and I used ground turkey!

A favorite in our family. I did tweak by adding 2 cups V8 Juice since we like our chili more soupy. Also used a local restaurant chili powder mix. Excellent and we make it over and over.
