I cheated and used onion powder, mustard powder (didn't drain liquid), garlic powder and capsicum (cayenne pepper powder). It was so good! Thanks for the great recipe!

I made this recipe tonight for a friend and her son. I doubled the recipe and added a little extra brown sugar and an 8oz can of tomato sauce.(we like our sloppy joes, sloppy!!) It was delicious! This is a recipe that I will be making again!!! Make sure you eat it with some wavy potato chips....yummy!

A very easy recipe that you can add extra ingredients to. Can't compare to manwich cause never had it before. I added cayenne pepper, bbq sauce (decreased the ketchup amount), worchestshire and A-1 and it was great...kids gave it two thumbs up!

These were great! I used 1/2C of ketchup, 1/4C of bbq sauce and 3 teaspoons of mustard. So easy and just like I remembered my mom making them!

Yummy! I used 2 pounds of ground beef, 1 cup of ketchup and 1/4 cup of BBQ sauce. Perfect sweetness. I used about 2 teaspoons of mustard for extra tang and to offset the sweetness of the BBQ sauce. I was rushing so didn't use enough onions or bell peppers, next time I will use more. Make sure you remember to cook the onions and bell peppers with the meat, makes the kitchen smell wonderful.

This recipe ROCKS! I have to admit that I was a little worried with the amount of ketchup that the recipe calls for, but it turned out SO good! Its so easy to make and I love using fresh peppers and onions. I will never go back to Manwich again! Thanks for the great recipe! It will be used many times in our family!

My 8 year old loves to help by making the sauce in a separate small bowl then adding it to the meat mixture.

I made this recipe as directed and for me, it was way too sweet. I would maybe try 1 tablespoon of sugar and add the others to taste. It was also a little bland as well, missing that extra "oomph". I added some A-1 and played with it until I gave up. It seems like it's almost there but not quite, which is why i gave it a 3. I looked at some other recipes and would probably add the vinegar & worstershire next time.

This is a great, easy way to get dinner together with things you already have on hand. I've made them with and without the bell pepper and can't tell that much of a difference. I use fresh garlic instead of the powder. They won't replace my regular home-made sloppy joe recipe, but these are very good.
