OMG!!!! hope delicious were these, i have never in my life had a sloppy joe, being from england only heard of then through american tv shows..YUMMY, my daughters and husband loved them, the only thing i changed was i left out the sugar and replaced 1/3 of the ketchup with BBQ sauce, the bbq sauce added sweetness and i felt it would be too sweet if i added the sugar aswell, apart from that i left everything the same.. i will definatly make this again...thanx Tamara for a great recipe.

This is a great basic recipe for sloppy joes...only thing I added was vinegar and Worcestershire's sauce (just isn't sloppy Joes without those 2 ingredients :D otherwise though, it was fantabulous

I've never made sloppy joes before. This was really easy and yummy! My little boys liked it too. Husband thought it was too sweet, and he's probably right - I used less brown sugar than it called for but with the ketchup sweetness, it could use even less or none.

Easy to make, and tastes great! I'm a rookie in the kitchen, making meals for between classes. It makes a great sandwich, even warmed up. Thanks!

Very good. Kids loved it. I used 1 small red pepper and 1 small purple pepper from the local farmers market. I doubled the sauce as our family likes our sloppy. All my kids; ages 4 and 2 and 9 months liked this meal. I served w/crisp wedges and peas. Easy weekday meal!

I've made this recipe quite a few times and it always amazes me that such odd on-hand ingredients can be combined to produce such a wonderful meal. I always double it and we still never have enough we eat so much of it! This is great to use up the rest of the huge package of frozen hamburgers from the summer. Great recipe that turns out perfect every time even if you don't measure. Delicious!

YUM!! I made this with some Yve's "ground turkey" soy crumbles and it was a real winner. I cut the sugar a bit, and added 1 tablespoon of water to thin it out. I like mine a little more "savory" and not quite so thick, but otherwise this is a perfect Sloppy Joe recipe. I will try it with dried TVP next time to see if it soaks up the flavors.

Like Whoa...Flavorful! The flavors come out so well in this sandwich, I was pleasantly surprised. Like Emeril though I had to kick it up a notch by adding some hot sauce baby - BAM, BAM, BAM because I like it a little spicy. You know as a kid I grew up on sloppy joe's out of the can like most folks - but as I got older I shyed away from it because of the sweet flavor. But with this recipe you have the ability to control the sweetness it is not oversweet at all. I was expecting a typical tomato-o-e base. No, not at all these ingredients lend itself more to a sort of delicious barbeque flavor. I was like oh snap... she might be on to something here - It simple, quick and easy to make and it fills a hungry belly. Most people already have these ingredients in their pantry already. I Luv it. Indeed a keeper - I will make this again. Beautiful presentation - Reveiwers you have to try this.
