Totally awesome. Loved it. Made it just like the recipe and was wonderful. Manwich is never going to be bought again in my house.

Great basic sloppy joe recipe! It seemed like it was missing something & we like a little kick so I added some dried hot pepper flakes.

This is basically the same recipe my mom and I have been using for years. Absolutely the best. I can't eat any other kind of sloppy joes. I never measure when making them. Can be made with just ketchup, mustard, and brown sugar just as well.

I never liked sloppy joes growing up so I was hesitant to make this, but am glad I did! I've been making this recipe for almost 2 years, and it'll be the only one I use. I add about 1/4 cup BBQ sauce, and a little water for more sauce. If I need to get rid of celery, I add it, but not too much otherwise it's overpowering. I'll also add whatever kind of bell pepper I have on hand--doesn't have to be green. I usually double the recipe then freeze ice cream scoop piles on parchment paper, and after frozen store in a plastic bag. This works great for quick meals. Simply take a couple balls out, put in a bowl, and heat in the microwave.

My husband is UNBELIEVABLY a pain in the butt with anything new I try. He grew up on the powdered mix stuff. He actually ASKED me to make this again. This is monumental, because he usually tells me whatever I make is fine. If I can please his pallete with this recipe (and I have tried hundreds from here) this should go on anyones top shelf! I always say I am going to review recipes, and never do, but this one HAD to get the review. THANK YOU!!!

Really very easy, and super tasty! Can probably add a bit of hot sauce to give it some kick too.

We left out the green pepper (personal preference). Super easy and has great flavor for a sloppy joe.

This was my first time making sloppy joes so I wanted an easy and quick recipe. This was perfect! I followed the recipe but put in a little less brown sugar (2 tsp) and did what others did by mixing BBQ sauce with the ketchup. Instead of cooking it in a pan on the stove I did what another cook did and that was brown the meat then throw everything in a crock pot for 3 hours. It came out great! My fiance loved it!

I like the recipe. I did take the advice of others and add 1/2 c. of bbq sauce and omitted the brown sugar. It was perfect!

Not to our liking - far too much "sour" from the ketchup. I may try making sloppy joes again some time, but with plain tomato sauce.

I have not had sloppy joes since i was little, this was just how I remembered it. Perfect. I did make mine with Venison ground meat, since I have a freezer full. Great new way to use venison and it did not taste gamey.

The only reason that this is not a 5* is due to the fact it wasn't 'saucy' enough. I followed someone's suggestion to use 3/4 ketchup to 1/4 BBQ sauce and it was great! Only suggestion would be to double the sauce. Great Sloppy Joes!!!

I have only had Manwich sloppy joes in the past, and I was never a real fan. I decided to try this recipe and followed it EXACTLY! I LOVED them and so did my husband. I will ONLY make my sloppy joes using this recipe!!! YUMMMM!

I can't believe I ever paid a dollar a can for manwich. This is SO easy and much better, and cheaper. My terribly picky kids even ate it. I didn't have any green pepper and don't really like it so I just put in a bit more onion. Easy, fast and delicious.

I loved this recipe because of how simple it is, and I had everything already in the house so there were no trips to the grocery store! The taste was awesome! I even found my boyfriend eating it cold out of the fridge in the middle of the night! A+

I used ground turkey thigh instead of the beef; used half BBQ sauce and and half ketchup...no brown sugar. It had a nice tangy kick to it. Also added ome diced celery as I had it on hand. Next time I'd add a bit of water and this was a bit dry but otherwise a keeper! Used all organic/natural ingredients and used whole wheat buns. Healthy AND tasty!
