I doubled the recipe because I wanted to freeze some for quick lunches and then realized I only had 3/4 cup of ketchup on hand so I subbed in 1/4 cup of Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce. I followed the recipe exactly aside from that and had one sandwich and it was very tasty. Then I added 1 tsp of horseradish to the remainder of the mixture and had a second joe. I really wish I hadn't done that! I love horseradish, but didn't find it to be a good complement in this recipe. It's still perfectly edible, but not as good as it was without.

Yummy & easy, and since I'm playing at being single this week it was perfect for just me with a small amount of leftovers for tomorrows lunch. The only thing I changed was to add 1/4 c. chili sauce because I had some to use up and a tb. extra of water to make it a bit saucer for my taste. Excellent recipe and I will use this again and again. Thanks so much Laurie!

This is the recipe I've been looking for for years - my mother's. Thank you so much, it brought back such great memories and I will make this a staple. I was never able to get it right, but now - viola!

Ok so I've never liked sloppy joes but these are SO good! My 3 yr old absoutly loved them. I like that it dosent have a overbearing ketchup taste and the brown sugar is a perfect hint of sweetness kids n adults will love! I will b making these again.

This really deserves 3.5 stars. Its a great starter, but after following the recipe exactly it tasted kinda like tangy ketchup, kinda boring. So I wound up just eyeballing extra ingredients to try and liven it up a bit. You definitely need fresh green peppers and onions chopped up in this, it just isn't sloppy joes without them.

Quick and easy for sure! We actually put this over a bed of noodles, added some jalapenos, sour cream, crushed red peppers and cheddar cheese. Has a wonderful BBQ flavor to it!

This is a wonderful sloopy joe recipe!! My husband isn't crazy about sloppy joes, but he likes these. I do double the recipe and add just a splash of vinegar. Yummy!! My 2 year old likes them too :).

Went to make sloppy joes today from a Manwich can and didn't have any so I used this recipe instead. The sandwiches are the best, my whole family loved them and I'll never go back to the "can" again. Thanks for a great recipe!

Wow, these are great! Doubled the recipe and added a chopped onion, just because I was trying to get rid of it. Very tasty and so much better than store-bought! It's worth it to make it yourself!

These were so good-my husband is not a Manwich fan since there are peppers in it so this was perfect! Just the right amount of sweet, I did add a few shots of hot sauce and used ground turkey-Yum!

These Sloppy Joes were *PERFECT* for my family. My husband hates the "bits" (i.e.-onion and bell pepper chunks) that I usually enjoy, but loves the flavor they bring. This way we can both enjoy these! I doubled the recipe for my family and Hubby went back for seconds! Excellent!

Very quick and easy to make. Excellent flavor. May go to 2 tsp brown sugar next time to decrease sweetness. Will definitely make again!
