A great big WOW... these are absolutely fantastic! It's one of those recipes that is so original and delicious that it really deserves more than 5 stars. I did made one change and that was to omit the broccoli slaw and cabbage and just use a bag of regular cole slaw mix. If you use already prepared hummus and pre-cooked chicken from the grocery store this healthy and filling meal would be ready in just minutes. Thanks so much for this great recipe!
I always appreciate a new twist on a favorite, especially one which utilizes beans and fresh cabbage rolled in a handy wrap. Unfortunately what looks good on paper, is not always so once made. Starting with just 2 garlic cloves made the bean puree garlicky enough.... couldn't image adding the other two PLUS the two in the slaw. And I could have done without the mayo -- really didn't add to the flavor -- would have been tastier using olive oil. The zing from the dijon and cumin was enjoyable; however, the bean puree could have benefited from the zing of fresh lemon juice instead of that in powdered form. Once assembled, the textures of the cooked slaw with cooked chicken with soft bean puree in a soft flour tortilla were rather... well, boring. The concept is a good one and deserving of another go-round... just with a few tweaks.
This is a fabulous and delicious recipe! Whomever thought up this delectable dish should be a chef!
This was a really good, quick meal. I couldn't find broccoli coleslaw mix, but I used a tri-color mix and some fresh broccoli and it turned out great.
This is an interesting recipe, in a way, a variation of fajitas. I cut the chicken into small strips. It took me a while to get the garbanzo mixture creamy in the blender so I added a little lemon juice for extra liquid. I think you could just substitute hummus (even flavored) for the blended creation as a shortcut. Also I think it would be interesting to substitute some uncooked broccolini or broccoli slaw (it comes shredded in a bag in the veggie dept., if you're having problems finding it) on top of the hummus & chicken for a nice texture.
Wow!! I wasn't sure I'd like this at all but I wanted to try something new. It was fantastic. I cut up turkey cutlets instead of chicken. I also used store bought hummus with roasted garlic. I will eat this tonight for dinner too.
Yummy!! so easy, and there was hummus left over for bagel crackers too.
Good dish. Not the best hummus I've tasted, but it's comparable to anything you can buy at a regular supermarket. Still, I'm glad that I now know how to make it.
