I added zucchini cubed and a bell pepper. I also used ricotta cheese instead of cottage cheese. Served it with a salad and bread. Yum!

This was ok though it seemed to be missing something. I would probably use ricotta cheese next time. Also I think a pork sausage would rock in this dish and give it a ton more flavor. Perhaps next time.

This was great! I added some additional water halfway through cooking since it was almost gone and the pasta wasn't quite done. Used seasoned diced tomatoes and a bit of Mexican cheese. Otherwise stuck to the recipe--a keeper and so easy.

To insure plenty of flavor and to simplify a bit: Added chopped bell pepper w/ meat. Drained and added additional 1 tsp minced garlic. Used prepared pasta sauce (w/ spices) in place of making your own. Added some extra flavor with a few dashes of italian seasoning. Used Italian Style Stewed Tomatoes in place of diced. Combined cheeses and added to skillet and simmered about 15-20 min. Combined pasta and liquid from skillet. Served with a dash of parm. cheese. This recipe might also be good w/ a little mozz. cheese. Will try that next time and add in w/ the other cheese. Overall, easy, quick and tasty!

I needed something quick and easy to cook for the kids dinner and this was the answer! I did use some Italian diced tomatoes and some onion powder. I just adjusted the seasonings to our families taste and skipped the cottage cheese. It tasted alot like HH but without all the additives. Thanks for the post and another great and easy meal. Oh....the kids loved it!!

This turned out better than I thought it would. I added additional water, fresh basil, accidentally bought tomato paste that had Italian seasonings in it so I used that, and a couple of shakes of Mrs. Dash Italian seasonings. Also sprinkled in mozzarella cheese when I added the cheese part.

This was pretty good but I changed a few things. I used half italian sausage and half beef to add a little spice. I subbed ricotta for the cottage cheese because my italian husband would kill me if I made lasagna with cottage cheese. And, I used campanelle pasta rather than bow tie so that it looked more like lasagna. The verdict was that it is a very good easy dinner but not quite lasagna. Another reviewer said it was like a home made hamburger helper and I think I agree. The low hassle alone will have me making it again.

This was good, not awesome, though. I could have thrown this one together without a recipe. Flavor lacked some and was not cheesy enough for a 'skillet lasagna'.

This was a great, fast meal. I added fresh spinach to the skillet 3 min before the cheese mixture. I also doctored it all up with extra spices, and grated cheese. had to subsitute 1/4 cup ketchup (I forgot the paste at the store, and omitted the added salt). Then I also served it with garlic bread. It was so yummy!

I wanted to improvise and use what I had on hand plus make it a recipe and a half. I used 3/4 lb. of ground beef and added chopped carrots, fresh mushrooms and spinach to fill in the gaps. I added a little more tomato paste and water, worchestershire sauce, and used italian seasoning. I didn't have bow tie pasta (it's too big for my little one to eat without complications) so I used a cup of elbow macaroni. This reminds me of mixture of a dish my mom made as a kid and Hamburger Helper. I'm sure my family will love it. Super easy to make, took as much time as it would have making it from a box.....only healthier! Oh, and I used fat free cottage cheese for the topping.

Delicious and very easy to make. I will have to double the recipe next time so we can all have seconds! I had to use shredded mozerella cheese instead of parmesan and we used venison hamburger instead of beef. I will definately make this regularly.

I was so ready for this recipe to be so so, but it was great! I used ground turkey instead of beef and I followed others' suggestions to double all the spices. I added extra water as needed. Also threw in some diced red bell peppers to use them up. Very quick and easy, and a great meal.

Really good and easy. Not quite as good as the real thing but close and SO MUCH easier. Thought the taste was great. Made exactly as instructed except used large curd cottage cheese instead of small curd and whole wheat penne pasta instead of bowtie. We will definitely be having this dish again and again. Thanks.

Was really good. I used ricotta cheese instead of the cottage cheese. I also sprinkled grated mozzarella cheese on top after serving. I did doctor it with extra spices and will probably use Italian sausage next time. But this recipe has definitely been added to the rotation. So much easier than regular lasagna.

i added basil, upped the oregano, used low fat cottage cheese, spicy ital sausage instead of beef, and mixed in some fresh spinach right before the cottage cheese. i really liked that there were hardly any dishes to wash and it was quick. i served it w/ a salad out of a bag and frozen garlic bread for an easy i dont feel like cooking dinner. this is a great recipe to play around w/ and adjust to your liking.

Very good. I made this according to directions. But I did have to add more water during the cooking. We topped ours with mozzarella cheese on the plate. We are cheezy like that. The whole family enjoyed. Thanks for a great and quick recipe.

I think this recipe would be good as-is, but I made a few modifications that turned out pretty good. First, I used italian sausage in place of the ground beef. We were out of tomato paste, so I used 1/4 cup of ketchup and omitted the salt. Also, I added 1 tsp. of basil and an extra 1/4 cup of water to the recipe because it ran out of water and was sticking. Definately a keeper! Reminds me of a GOOD version of Hamburger Helper because there's no chemical after taste.

Very good and an easy alternative to lasagna. I use broken up lasagna noodles so it looks more like lasagne. **Also, it needed a little more water since it dried up at the end, so I'd add 1/2 cup more.
