I made with corkscrew pasta as that was all I had. I added roasted garlic when browning the beef, and also threw in a small can of tomato paste and some chili powder. Used red pepper vs. green. Served with grated sharp cheddar and a dollop of greek yogurt. Easy, fast, cheap = a weeknight winner!

Very easy for a weeknight meal. Taste was great. Followed as written but can be modified. Leftovers heated well with parmesan cheese on top.

This is a great recipe if your short on time and ingredients. I was out of canned tomatoe sauce, so I used prepared jarred sauce, but that was the only change I made to the recipe. Best of all, my 6 and 7 year-old boys loved it! I will definitely be making this again.

I'm giving this a three because my husband and I are comprising on the rating. He gave it a 2 and I gave it a 4, so 3 it is. He thought it wasn't anything to write home about, kind of boring. I thought it was wonderful. The only changes I made was that I added a can of fired roasted tomatoes. I took the advice of other reviewers and cooked the noodles first, short of being done and let them finish cooking with the meat sauce. I happen to love chili mac type recipes and I thought this was very comforting.

It was ok, a little bland, but better than dinner out of a box. Tweaked, I think it would have been better.

My husband adored it, I cooked it as it was, except that I added some minced garlic and when it was done, I sprinkled shredded cheddar on top and let it melt slightly. As a recipe for those days in which you want to please you husband, but don't really feel like cooking, it can't be beat.

I also changed up this recipe a little by adding additional onion and minced garlic. I did not have green pepper so we had to go without, but it was still good. The only macaroni I had was in a Kraft Cheese and Macaroni box and so used it and then added the cheese powder and some additional water at the end. My kids absolutely loved it!

This dish is a great starter with many possabilities. We made too much and had left overs which we added spagetti sauce too, very yummy. Hubby and I had a lot of good ideas for this plate, so no doubt we will be using this recipe for a long time to come.

My family also calls this Goulash. This isn't the same recipe, but I couldn't find the one my mom and grandma used, and they go by memory. This sounded close so I decided to try it. I wasn't sure about adding the Worcestershire sauce, it adds a different tang to the dish. I did have to add 1/2 cup more of water for the noodles to cook without the rest of the dish burning. I think next time I will add diced tomatoes, undrained, because by adding the extra water it made the pasta slightly bland for my taste and dry.

Delicious though I tweaked it quite a bit. I used 3 tbsps on Worchester sauce, a can of beef boullion, a can of tomato paste as well as green onions, celery, zucchini and red pepper. I also cooked the macaroni seperately, only adding it at the end. It turned out beautifully. Really hearty meal.

I liked this recipe; it was similar to one that I had cooked before, but this one was less complicated. I modified it by adding frozen corn to the mixture, using beef broth instead of water and I added a few tablespoons of Hungarian paprika- as a nearly full-blooded Hungarian, I love anything with paprika in it.! Other than those few changes, I made the recipe as stated and my husband and I liked it a lot for a quicker weeknight meal :)

Hubby said he liked it, so it's a keeper! I did not have elbow pasta, but penne pasta was a good substitute. I just simmered 10 minutes longer and added 1/2 cup of extra water. I don't care for green peppers, so I substituted a can of green chiles and a can of fire roasted diced tomatoes...very yummy! It could have used a bit more spice, so next time I will probably add some paprika or another tangy spice.
