Skillet Beef and Macaroni

"I found this recipe 30 years ago on a can label. My family loved it, and I later found I always received compliments when I took the dish to potluck suppers. Since it's so easy to put together, it makes a real time-saver for a busy housewife or working mother."

This was "okay". Flavor was not as intense as I expected. If I make again, I'd double hamburger meat and add chili powder.

This is exactly the way my Grandmother AND Mother always made what we called Goulash. We loved it then and still love it now. I add a little garlic powder because I do that in just about everything! Easy, Tasty, Cheap and Filling! Thanks for sharing a great recipe!

I liked the recipe when it was done... I didn't have green pepper so I added red pepper instead (sweeter taste). All I can say is cook the noddles in a seperate pot when you are cooking the meat and then add in to the mixture once the noodles are cooked. Simmer to let flavours mix and serve. I also doubled the amount of noodles.

My kids liked it, but I was disappointed, Hamburger Helper would of been easier.

Hubby said he liked it, so it's a keeper! I did not have elbow pasta, but penne pasta was a good substitute. I just simmered 10 minutes longer and added 1/2 cup of extra water. I don't care for green peppers, so I substituted a can of green chiles and a can of fire roasted diced tomatoes...very yummy! It could have used a bit more spice, so next time I will probably add some paprika or another tangy spice.

Much better than Hamburger Helper. I did add some celery, zuchini, and diced tomatoes so it needed more Worchestershire Sauce. I also added some garlic and a touch of paprika.

I recently had to start eating gluten-free, and DH was craving Hamburger Helper. Don't ask me why, LOL. Anyway,I tried using gluten-free pasta, and it fit the bill, but tasted so much better than Hamburger Helper. . Both of us really enjoyed it. It was so easy, I don't know why anyone would do HH over this. I did add some mozerrella cheese to make it more like HH's pizza mac, but I tasted it beforehand, and it really didn't need it. It is very good as written. This is definitely going to be part of the rotation.
