The basic recipe is just that...basic, however by making the additions suggested by other contributors this makes the beginning of a great soup when lunch is due in a few minutes

I added the following ingredients: 2 cans of cream of chicken, 1/4 tsp garlic powder, 1/4 tsp cumin, 1/4 tsp chili powder, and cilantro to give the soup more flavor. Also, I served rice, then the soup, and topped with cheddar cheese and sour cream in a big bowl and lunch is served!

Simple and delicious. Defineately use one can of cream of chicken. After my son was born we ate this soup at least once a week. It was a real lifesaver. My best friend is about to have a baby and I plan on giving her the recipe and the stuff to make it when I visit.

this soup is SOOOOO EASY & SO GOOD. it tastes like something you'd get at a good mexican restaurant. it's so flavorful and hearty! here are my variations: used 1 can of broth & 1 can of cream of chicken, added some garlic powder, a few dashes of paprika & cumin, used rotisserie chicken and served it with rice. i will definitely be making this again, even for company. my husband loved it as well! thanks for the great recipe!! :o)

This is a perfect soup for a large crowd! I had 25 people to feed and tripled the recipe. They ate it all and many asked for the recipe. As suggested I used rotisserie chicken, it was cheaper than chunk canned chicken for the amount I needed, and then spiced things up with chili, cumin and a bit of cilantro. I served with white tortilla chips, sour cream and grated cheddar cheese. It's a winner recipe!

If you're looking for a quick, satisfying soup, this is fantastic. Easy to prepare, and most of it I had in the pantry already. My kids are generally pretty picky, and they gobbled this up!

So easy and soooo good! Like others, I made some changes: Used grilled chicken breast, drained/rinsed the beans, added choppped jalapenos, added a can of cream of chicken soup, added 1 sliced zucchini, and spiced up with cumin, cayenne, etc. It still took less than 15 minutes to prep. Served with avocado, cheese and chips - YUM!!!!

I love how easy this is to make, and although it is very spicy, it still tastes great. But unless you want the soup to taste fake in a very-processed-canned-food-way, DO NOT add a can of cream of chicken soup.

Sooooo Good!! And easy! I always try to fix the recipe the exact way it's written the first time. But this time I didn't have the black beans and used pinto. I highly recommend this soup! Thank you!!

I was told that this was the best soup that I had ever made by my husband! 1 can or chicken broth, 2 cans of Cream of Chicken, 1 can of tomatoes w/ chilies, 1 can Corn and one can of black beans. I started out by cooking up some onions and garlic in a little olive oil. Then added all the cans together in the pot. Added cayenne pepper, cumin, pepper, chili powder and paprika to taste. Simmer these together for about a 1/2 hour for more flavor. Finally, I had some left over spicy grilled chicken that I threw in while the soup was on a super low setting. Then, let the ingredients come together for another 15 minutes and then serve. This made the chicken super moist and totally not overcooked! Fantastic!

Good base recipe. I made it my own by adding a can of kidney beans along with the can of black beans just for extra flavor. Make sure you drain everything and rinse the beans well. Instead of the tomatoes with green chiles, I used a can of diced tomatoes and a separate 7 oz. can of the diced green chiles. Like other reviewers had suggested, I added some ground cumin, chili powder, black pepper and garlic salt to taste. I also used two fresh chicken breasts that I diced and cooked first. Canned chicken just did not sound appealing to me. Then I shredded some pepperjack cheese on top. Yum yum!

I gave this 5 stars for both ease and taste. If you need a quick, tasteful dinner, this is it. I threw in some chili flakes just because we like our food extra spicy! I also made a southwest salad to go with it, and they went very well together.

I usually do not review recipes but I loved how easy this was and how great it tasted. I drained the corn, chicken (& rinsed), beans, and tomatoes. I used 1 can cream of chicken, 1 can condensed cheese soup, and about 1/2 can chicken broth (for consistency). I also added chili powder and cumin per suggestions. I poured everything into the crock pot and left in on low for a couple hours. Then chopped up green onions to mix into my portion and shredded cheddar on top. Ate most with chips. So easy!

Great Recipe! I have passed this on to many girlfriends who use it for gatherings at their house all the time. I always keep the ingredients at our summer cabin for a quick meal too. The only thing different I do is use a jar of Southwest salsa instead of a can on tomatoes it provides some of the additional seasoning others have suggested.

Super easy and tasty! But if my addition is correct, the calorie count is *WAY* overstated (unless it includes the chips and cheese) - which is actually a good thing.
