Very tasty - we did swap one can of broth for one can of low fat cream of chicken soup, to us it had a better, thicker texture. Also we have made it once with a shredded store-bought chicken and also with canned and it was very good both ways. I top with sliced onion, avocado, cheese and FF sour cream - excellet and SUPER easy recipe! Thank you!

I made this for diiner and it was AWESOME!! I took the advice of other reviewers and used a can of cream of chicken soup instead of one of the cans of broth and added chili powder and cumin. YUM!! I will definitely make this again.

For me this is a 5 star recipe because it was super easy, but turned out quite really good. I did take advice of others by using one can broth and two cans of cream of chicken soup. I added a little cumin and chili seasoning and served over chips with shredded cheddar cheese and sour cream.

couldn't be better or easier! I used a rotissiere chicken breast (just cause I don't like canned chic) This was lunch for a week and everyone wanted to know what I had that smelled so good!

Excellent with modifications: I added leftover chicken breasts (3 of them), cream of celery soup and spices. It was delicious!

granted, this is an okay soup, but it's not chicken tortilla soup... there are no tortillas called for in the recipes, so basically it's six can chicken soup.. and it needs a lot more flavor

I made this one night when I thought I was getting sick. My boyfriend LOVED it! Last week he brought up again how much he enjoyed it. I squirted limes into each bowl and added chopped cilantro as well. I also used 1 can cream of chicken, 1 can broth like others suggested. I added cumin and chili pepper to taste.

This is so easy and simple. I bought low sodium whenever possible for this recipe just because all the canned ingrediants are so high in sodium. Besides that, It's a great recipe. Youll actually find yourself making your own changes the second or third time you make it.

Without adding chili powder and cumin it is very bland. MAYBE,MAYBE I'll try it again with real chicken, but I doubt it.

I prepared the recipe as instructed, but found it to be quite bland. To remedy this, I added a packet of low-sodium taco seasoning with some extra cracked pepper and WOW, what a difference! It's perfect! I did use the canned chicken, but thought it a little oddly-textured, so I'll probably use leftover chicken, shredded or cubed, next time. Thank you!

Sooo easy and delicious. Did make a few changes to add flavor and consistency: Replaced one can of broth with a can of cream of chkn soup to thicken. Definitely needs chili powder, garlic powder, cumin and onion powder. Also- rinse black beans well to avoid weird grey color. Top soup with diced avocado, lots of shredded cheese, sour cream and crushed tortilla chips. Next time will try using rotisserie chiken instead of canned to add more flavor.

Great! The five stars came from--everything was in my pantry already. It was a great soup that was quick when I was having a friend coming over and working late that day. Like others, I added 1/2 tsp of cumin, 1/2 tsp of chili powder, one clove of garlic. I also did not rinse the black beans, but I thought it gave it a great taste. Serve with chips, sour cream and cheese.

Something very good came from these six cans. I really liked it with a spoon of sour cream added to it. Simple, quick, and good.

With the weather getting chilly, and my husband coming down with a cold, I decided to make a tortilla soup. I like this recipe because I favor a clear, thin broth as opposed to the versions with enchilada sauce or cream. This soup was so yummy after my "alterations" - I used frozen chicken breasts that I boiled with some diced onion in the chicken stock and then shredded. I used three cans of stock instead of two. I always rinse my black beans (which wasn't noted on the recipe). The soup was a bit bland, so I added a hefty amount of taco seasoning - but you could just add chili powder, cumin, salt, pepper and garlic powder to taste. I topped with cilantro and a dash of lime. Wonderful!

Not bad at all for a soup that takes only canned ingredients. I added some minced garlic and chile powder along with a pinch of ground cumin and a dash of salt. Yummy.

I made this in my crock pot, cooking for about 4 hours...was very easy to throw together...I used raw chicken breasts cut into thin strips, and then shredded them with a fork after they turned tender...I did take advice from other reviews and added cumin and chile powder as it cooked...I served with sour cream and shredded cheddar cheese on top...served this for supper and had very little leftovers from my husband and two teenagers...will make again and probably double the quantities.
