OMG!! I can't believe I never thought of this. I am a huge garlic lover; I put it in everything except dessert and coffee. This was fantastic! I seared a top sirloin, let it rest, then sliced it and poured the garlic butter over the slices. It was like I died and went to garlic heaven. Wonderful recipe! I can't thank you enough! (to other reviewers: this is not a marinade, it's a sauce. Read the recipe!)

Steaks we tried were too tough. Much prefer to marinate 24 hours or more versus this receipe.

This is a great dish. Sooo simple, Quick and Easy. With 3 children I dont have a lot of time to spend making food dishes, so Im always looking for ideas like this. I simply added a side salad with some red onions, and a drizzle of the Garlic Butter. Mwah, Excellent.

This was the best steak we have ever cooked at home. I used t-bones and (real)salted butter (Sshhh, don't tell my hubby, he doesn't like real butter)and minced garlic instead of powdered. Mouthwatering! I served this with strawberry-romaine salad and baked asparagus with balsalmic butter. Delish! We ate til we were stuffed and then kept eating, it was sooooo good.

I made this recipe saterday June 9/07 everyone loved it!! It was so simple to make. I changed up the garlic butter sauce by adding some chile pepper flakes to it. My 20 month old son gobbled it up like I've never fed him before!!! I will deffinately make this recipe again soon. Savvy

I marinated 24 hours, still lots of chewy meat. Butter/garlic seasoning was not impressive.

Thank you for posting this recipe. My hubby and I found it to be wonderful. I used it on filet mignon for a special occasion and not a morsel was to be found afterwards. I also added chopped fresh chives and parsley to the butter. Just a little tip: During the holiday season, I used a recipe very similar to yours to make refrigerated crescent rolls. After unrolling the crescent rolls flat on a baking sheet, I brushed on a little of a mixture similar to this, and everyone went wild. Of course we had turkey and ham (no need for garlic), and the cresent rolls were a lively surprise & hit. I also tried this on broccoli and it was lucious.

Nice recipe..I don't eat alot of Red Meat these days but have now collected 2-recipes that have steak as the main-ingredient..I think the garlic powder is a good idea/I usually just saute' 6-8 gloves until tender and smash them with a wooden utensil(into the butter)while still in the saute' pan..I might add the Butter/Garlic to some StringBeans/instead of brushing the steak..and pile the StringBeans atop the steak..try a cast iron fry pan for stove top searing(also)I use an old Pressure Cooker Pot for larger poultry searing..useing a Glass cover from some other pot I discarded long ago/I removed its handle so as to place in a 375-degree oven.

I used filet mignon with this recipe. I seared it on a grill and then finished in the oven (10 minutes for medium). The garlic butter sauce added a nice flavor.

Great steaks!! Made these for my girlfriend and family for mothers day. I got my butcher to cut some 2" thick New York strip. Everyone that had one (6 of us,all adults) said it was the best steak they have ever had. To be fair the best steak house in a 30 mi radius is Outback. The taste of the meat, not the marinade comes through. I have been told that we WILL be having these again.
