I tried this recipe and was very pleased with the results. I read the reviews and followed some of the suggestions and added some of my own, like using chicken broth, diced & stewed tomatoes, using a small jar of southwestern style salsa, chopped fresh jalapeno pepper, drained corn, and cinnamon. One downfall of my own doing was using dried kidney beans instead of canned which needed to be soaked overnight and added to the total cooking time. However, I will make this a regular menu item in my home.

This is "OK". Definitely not the best I've ever had.... Made a batch for my bf and I yesterday. We needed a quick lunch before going to our friend's Super Bowl get-together. I also wanted to make something that would yield plenty of left-overs for this week's lunches. I guess turkey chili isn't my thing (or mashed kidney beans for that matter...). I prefer my chili with whole beans - and more of them. Kidney beans don't mash well (who knew?). I must say that this was easy to prepare though. I'm going to stick with Jake Jacobs slow burn chili (which is the best I've tried off this site so far). Thanks for sharing!

This chili recipe is very good. I upscaled it to 24 servings because I like to freeze half for another meal. The blend of spices was extremely good, however, the chili definitely has a bite, which my kids did not like too well. Additionally, the chili was more soupy than hearty. I like a spoon to be able to stand up on its own in my chili. Some planned modifications to the recipe next time I make it: 1. Decrease cayenne pepper to 1/2 to 2/3 of what is indicated on the original recipe. 2. Decrease water to 2/3 of what is indicated on the current recipe. 3. I also increased the beans to twice as much. I like a good ratio of meat to beans. 4. I added a 15 ounce can of tomato paste. I hoped this addition would thicken the chili base, but I think the water really needs to be decreased also. Overall, give this recipe a try. Tweak the recipe to meet your needs. Enjoy!

I cook this chilli for my boyfriend all the time and he loves it. I just add a little semi-sweet chocolate chips in the bowl. This recipes is very easy to make when you come home from a long day at work.

I loved this recipe. It's simple and uses ingredients I usually have on hand. The spices were perfect for our family--my husband and daughter add their own hot sauce to their bowl. I used chicken broth instead of water and added a can of pintos in addition to the kidney beans and some cilantro just because we love cilantro! Served it with grated cheese, sour cream and tortilla chips. Perfect meal for a snowy day.

I liked this easy to make chili. My son was ho-hum about it but my daughter ate it all up. My family doesn't like spicy so I too, used the fire-roasted tomatoes and I used a red pepper instead of a hot pepper. Served it with low fat cheddar, sour cream, and rice.

My husband and I just love this recipe! I took the advice from some of the reviews and cooked the onion with the garlic first, then added the turkey. We also added a can of corn and black beans. Thanks for the great recipe!

We really enjoyed this recipe. My family does not like ground turkey, but since we are trying to eat healthier I thought I'd try this recipe since the reviews said it doesn't even taste like turkey. It's true! I did make some modifications: used diced instead of crushed tomatoes, added 2 generous tbsp of tomato paste and cut the cayenne pepper in half. I didn't smash the kidney beans either. I don't like spicy foods, so even though I halved the cayenne it was still a bit too spicy for me. Next time I will try halving the chili powder and see if that helps. Overall, it is a great recipe and I will definitely make it again!

I can't rate it officially because I made a few changes. Instead of water I used about a cup and a half of chicken stock. Used about a teaspoon of cumin instead of 1/2 (my personal taste), a teaspoon of unsweetened cocoa powder, 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon, and cut down on the cayenne for my kids' sake. Great recipe that can be played with for your personal tastes and one that is still healthy!

I made this exactly as the recipe states and it was really very good. No major changes needed for our tastes and it was quick. It's now on our list of recipes that I rotate through in winter.

This was a very good and extremely easy receipe. it was a bit spicy for me but my husband and daughter loved it and it was not so hot that I could not east it. I only used a cup and a half of water and think one cup would have been enough. I added a bit more garlic, usign three large cloves. Will definitely make it again.

This was pretty good! Changes: I used beef broth instead of water. I also added a can of black beans. I didn't mash any beans and I liked the way it came out!!! Next time I would rather use two cans of rotel instead of the crushed tomatoes. Thanks for an easy, quick, weeknight meal!

This is a great, simple recipe! I was looking for something quick that I could make with basic pantry ingredients and this hit the mark perfectly! The only change I made was to eliminate the salt. I will never buy a premade spice packet again!

Excellent chili! My whole family loved it even my 9 year old who is the pickiest eater I know. Changed a couple things though. I didn't have onions, but used a small can of chopped green chilies. I also used 1/4 cup water and 2 Tbs of cornstarch mixture and poured it into the bubbling chili 2 minutes before it was done, and stirred to thicken it up a little. Will make this again!

When I made this, people were scrapping the pot for more! I love the mashed kidney beans, it extended their flavor and use throughout the entire chili.
