YUM! I followed the recommendations of other reviewers and sauteed the onions and garlic before adding the turkey. I also added a chopped green pepper. This was delicious. UPDATE: I used a half lb turkey, half lb italian sausage and added a 4 oz can of fire roasted green chilis too. WOW.

THis was sooooo yummy! The only thing I did different was used Cannelini beans in stead of kidney beans cuz that's all i had, but then I added an extra can of beans without smashing them and also added a small can of diced green chilies! YUM!!!

Very tasty - I really like the seasonings in this chili!I didn't mash the beans, that's about the only modification I made.

the recipe produces a watery chili. try adding some corn starch to thicken it up. also top it with shredded cheese and a dollop of sour cream. serve with corn bread muffins.

This came out really good and was extremely simple to make. I didn't have any kidney beans so I just used black beans only, also I like a lot of flavor so I used about 4 tablespoons of chili seasoning, I omitted the paprika, and instead of cayenne pepper I used chili pepper about 1 1/2 tablespoons. Thanks for the recipe, I will be making this again!

Finally, a chili recipe using turkey that I like! I substituted 2 14.5 ounce cans of Diced Tomatoes with spices (sorry, I don't remember the spices) for the crushed tomatoes. And I substituted 1 15 ounce can of black beans (rinsed, but not mashed) for the kidney beans. I used 2 tablespoons of olive oil, and used about 1 tsp of refrigerated minced garlic, which I added to the olive oil before cooking the ground turkey. I used 1 1/4 pounds of ground white meat turkey. I didn't add salt since the diced tomatoes had plenty. This will be a regular meal at our house. I'll have to figure out how to tone down the spiciness (hot) because my husband and I prefer milder. But it really looked and tasted great.

This is a great traditional chili recipe. I followed the recipes exactly aside from adding a green pepper. I would think it would be great with ground beef as well, although the turkey was delicious. Such an easy recipe!

Great recipe! Here are the changes I made. I added about a cup of diced red and yellow bell peppers and a jalapeno when I was cooking the onion. I also omitted the cumin and oregano. I used 2 cans of diced tomatoes and a small can of tomato sauce because that is what I had on hand. I only used half a can of beans, based on personal taste, and left them whole. Lastly I used beer instead of the water. I started with a cup, but the chili got very thick while simmering, and I added the rest of the bottle.

Great tasting! I used fresh diced tomatoes instead of canned crushed, added 1 green pepper, and didn't mash the kidney beans. Next time I'll try to mash the beans and see if it's a little thicker. I also only added one cup of water.

Great basic recipe. Easy to build on. Added some extra ingredients and used in in a chili cookoff and won first place.

This recipe was great! I made a few changes due to some of the comments posted. I omitted the water, added whole kidney beans, whole black beans, 1 can green chili's, and added 2 cans of diced tomatoes instead of crushed. I only added 1 tablespoon of the chili powder and added a dash of seasoned salt and cinnemon and dash of chipotle seasoning(Mrs. Dash). I topped it off at the table with sour cream and the Mexican blend cheeses. My whole family loved this, it was still a little spicy but not enough to burn for to long. Will definitely use this again. And its true, it was even better the next day.

I added only one cup of water and was glad I did. One cup with 10-15 minute reduction before simmering makes a chili. Two cups is a soup!! Aside from that, I enjoyed this, it was simple to make but the flavors weren't dynamic or anything that wowed me.

My little family loved this Chili. It was really tasty and I followed some suggestions of other people by adding cinnamon, nutmeg, green bell pepper, celery and 1 can of chili beans. My extremely picky 5 year old even asked for seconds. That says it all! This recipe is a keeper.

Very similar to the turkey chili that my family enjoys. I add a chopped green pepper and a 12 ounce bottle of light beer (instead of the water). It really adds to the flavor, and the alcohol burns off. I don't like my beans mushy, so I put those in about 15 minutes before the chili is done. It's great with a can of rinsed pinto beans as well as the kidney beans. Also, I will add a handful of fresh chopped cilantro at the end for color, right before digging in!

Absolutely delicious! I only made a few changes (due to what I had in the kitchen). No kidney beans - so I used garbanzo beans. Also, I used frozen, pre-chopped onion (saves time and tears!) and omitted the paprika (was out)...delicious, will make again. :)
