this recipe was easy to make. But the dough was very sticky. I was unable to make cut outs with it. The cookies where very cake like, and soft. I am not sure if I did not cook them long enough. I cooked them for 13 mins, but they tasted like they where not done.

Easy to work with. Excellent flavor, not to sweet. Holds cookie press impressions well. The perfect sugar cookie, thanks Maxine.

Everyone seemed to like them, but I noticed they had a very floury taste and just didn't seem like Sugar Cookies. I suggest sprinkling sugar over the cookies before baking them if you aren't going to add icing!!!

These are so yummy!!!--I did replace the baking soda & cream of tartar with 4 tsp of baking powder. I have also rolled them in cinnamon & sugar mix after cutting them and are also delish. Today I'm making them with lactose free butter for my daughter (she's very lactose intolerant)& I'm expecting the same awesome results. I'm really glad I found this great recipe!!!

These came out wonderfully soft and buttery. I did not shape and slice the dough. In a hurry, I just popped the dough in the mixing bowl into the freezer for about 15 minutes, then shaped the dough into balls and flattened them. They are plenty sweet but are really more of a buttery flavor, which we loved. Will definitely make again. PS I didn't have cream of tartar so I subbed an equal amount of white vinegar mixed into the wet ingredients; it came out fine.

These were OK. They turned out more like a biscuit/cookie than an actual cookie. Too delicate to frost and not really that sweet w/o frosting. I will probably not make again.

Sugar cookies are one of my most favorite cookies. These are wonderful. I have made these twice. The first time I did roll in plastic. This time I did NOT roll. Just covered bowl and put in fridge. I rolled out the dough to make heart shaped cookies. Turned out wonderful.

The cookie dough was difficult to work with even after refrigerating for an hour. I wanted a quick recipe that made a soft sugar cookie, but did not need to be frosted. The cookie is very soft, but I think would taste much better frosted. They were also quite crumbly. I'm not sure that I would make these again.

My kids and I had fun making these cookies. We did cutouts and found I had to add more flour. They came out soft, fluffy and delicious. Will be making these again.

This is an excellent recipe. The reason i gave it a 4 star instead of 5 is because sometimes the cookies come out so delicate that it is hard to decorate them with frosting. But other than that they are beautiful and yummy!

I wanted to make simple sugar cookies for a family party; something less messy for the little ones. I thought this would fit my need. My husband insisted that I put on icing and sprinkles because it was Christmas. My sister loved the cookies because she said they were nice and moist, not hard like some sugar cookies. I may have added a tablespoon of milk to the batter. The cookie rolls were sticky but cut nicely after being in the refrigerator. The cookies were a big hit.
