This is so easy to make my family loves them. I made them by the recipe and with blueberry and lemon zest as a reviewer suggested. They are fresh and light, my favorite for when visitors come to town.

Made the cranberry orange scones. Lightened it up a touch with light sour cream. Added a few more cranberries. Delicious! Will certainly make again.

This was the first time I have ever made scones, and they came out perfect...I added a tart lemon glaze with lemon peel, and also added a variety of dried fruit...I will make these again!

I made the lemon blueberry version this am and it was the first time I used this recipe. It was fantastic! I used my food processer as many others suggested. The only change I made was that I swapped the sour cream to a 1/2 c of heavy whipping cream b/c I didn't have sour cream on hand. Everyone loved these scones. Quick prep and bake time with awesome results. Happy baking all .

great with a 5 oz container of greek yogurt of any flavor as a sub for the sour cream. could use a little vanilla or almond extract with variations of dried fruit or some fresh fruit minced if you want to add a little more flour.

I made these for an English tea that I put on for a family member that was getting married (kind of like a bridal shower with an English theme). It was the first time I had made these and they were a huge hit! At least 6 people asked me for the recipe. Not too sweet, not dry, and they melt in your mouth. Delicious! I made one change for future recipes. The recipe says to cut the dough into 8 triangles, which makes awfully big scones. I cut them in half again to make 16 scones and reduced the baking time to 14 minutes, checking on them during the last two minutes to make sure they didn't get too brown. This makes a nicer size that will feed more people.

I have making the same recipe for scones for many years and they are very good BUT this recipe makes a better scone than I have ever had on either side of the pond. I followed the recipe exectly. I ll never have to try another recipe for scones. This is it. The best.

What a fabulous recipe! I made them for a tea party but I divided the dough into four equal parts and cut them into 6 scones each to make 24 mini scones. I lowered the temperature to 375 and baked them for about 35 minutes. Thanks to 'Caljane' for the tip on making them using the food processor! * * * It was soooo easy and fast! But most importantly - they tasted GREAT!
