These came out PERFECT! I had to use Greek yogurt instead of the sour cream but they were not missing a thing. I also added the zest of one lemon. Excellent!!!

This scone recipe reminds me so much of the scones my father made for my siblings and me growing up. I was initially hesitant to try this recipe, however, glad I did! These are excellent and SO easy to make...with a few modifications: I used regular butter instead of the recommended and I used my hand mixer to do the mixing and it did very well.

Followed the recipe to the T. Piece of cake to grate the frozen butter. The dough came together perfectly. I made the cranberry orange scones and they were very moist and delicious. Husband said they were very good but a little bit more sugar next time would put it over the top.

Loved this recipe! Very easy in a food processor. I used chocolate chips and made them a little smaller than the recipe said, cooked them about 4 minutes less. My kids took them to their international festival where they were a big hit. Great recipe!

These are the best scones, EVER! Foolproof and delicious. I can't count how many times I have made them and they always are a hit! The hardest part is grating the frozen stick of butter and how hard is that!!!!

This is the first time I have rated any recipe here. This recipe has more of a muffin-like texture. I must say that, for a first time scone maker, I am very very happy with the results! It was sooo easy and fast. I divided the dough in two parts. I added a tsp of cinnamon and one chopped apple to one part and left the other half as the recipe indicated. Both were mmmm delicious! Thanks for the recipe! It is a great base and I will be making this over and over again with added fruit and nuts! THANKS!

This was my first time making scones. This recipe was simple and turned out perfect. I made the cranberry/orange variation and we loved it. The portions of the scones are huge (the size of a piece of pie), so I will cut them into smaller pieces in future recipes.

I made this last weekend for company. It was my first time making scones and I think it was the first of many more times to come. Very delicious and deceptively easy. Using the food processor made this recipe ridiculously easy. Can't wait to make cranberry orange scones this weekend!!

I made the following changes: used half whole wheat flour and half white, plain low fat yogourt instead on sour cream and I mixed in about 3/4 of a cup of raspberries and saskatoon berries that I had leftover in the freezer. I mixed everything in my food processor and I think it was a little to small for the whole batch, it pretty much pureed the berries into half of the batter so I took it out and kneaded it until the berries were mixed all the way through. I really liked how they turned out, a bit crusty on the outside and moist in the middle. I just realized that I put 1/2 cup of sugar instead of 1/3, must have misread the recipe, I'll definitely make sure to correct that next time since these were pretty sweet.

Amazing recipe, I will be making this time and again! I used fresh blueberries that were on sale and some fresh lemon and they turned out amazing. My husband who doesn't even like scones ate 3 and rated them 5 out of 5...that is saying a lot!

In the past I have had some trouble getting scones to turn out. This recipe made it very easy, even with a few alterations. Instead of the raisins, I diced up an apple, and I decided to add 2 Tbsp. of marmalade. These scones had perfect texture and outstanding taste. Thank you so much for supplying a recipe which made scones easy and accessible.

Very good, I made the lemon bluberry kind. I did not have any sour cream so I used plain yogurt instead and it turned out wonderfully.

This recipe makes perfect scones every time. I've made many variations now, although my favorite is sweet almond kernels (whole) with Trader Joe's triple berry blend.

These turned out great. I added 1 tsp vanilla and used blueberries instead of raisins. Also, I melted the butter and mixed it with the liquid before adding to the dry - this worked great. Why hassle freezing and shredding the butter if you don't have to?

I was impressed by this recipe. My first attempt at scones and they turned out great. I soaked the raisins in amaretto prior to adding them to the mix. I would like to try gran marnier next time. The variations are endless and this is another great addition to my recipe box.

Wow! Absolutely fantastic scones! I made the cranberry-orange variation and I'm eager to try the rest. The scone was perfect: perfect texture, perfect taste (not too sweet, not too bland), and perfect appearance. Even better than a local bakery! This is definitely a keeper recipe.
