It was pretty tasty. I should've used more bread crumbs than the recipe said because the patties completely fell apart. I didn't use mushrooms since I didn't have any. The meat was good mixed up with some egg noodles.

Try the Salisbury Steak recipe submitted by Kelly Berenger instead of this one. It is honestly the BEST Salisbury Steak recipe I have ever made and everyone that has tried it wants the recipe! If I could give it more than 5 stars I would! It's that good! I get tired of recipes that have Cream of Mushroom soup in them. They all seem taste the same. This recipe is ok but it is not a "Wow" recipe like the other one. Sorry Elouise.

The "steaks" definitely fell apart and as I've seen from other reviewers the next time I make this I will add more bread crumbs, otherwise a good, quick & easy meal.

Hands down THE best recipe I have ever used. Total hit; I dream of making it! The mushrooms and sauce are amazing. I used a cast iron skillet to brown the meat and I prefer to not use the browning sauce.

I thought this was very tasty. I used Worcestershire instead of browning sauce. Very simple, quick, and delish.

This was a fun detour from my usual cooking. (My hubby thought he entered the wrong house!) My patties did not fall apart much, but I had very lean meat, used 1/2 cup crumbs, and forgot the egg by mistake. I wonder if quick oats would keep it together better? For the sauce, I sauteed a large amount of mushrooms and onions, some red wine, then added the soup with a jar of beef GRAVY and (thankfully) omitted the salt. I will make this again.

We didn't really like the texture of the meat. It was too mushy. I almost left the soup out of the meat mixture...and i wish i had. I would have added more bread crumbs as others suggested but i ran out so i used up what i had, which was almost a full cup. I managed to keep the patties together but the texture was weird. Not what i want in my salisbury steak. I will keep looking for a recipe i like.

Ok flavor, but did not keep shape at all. I will move on and try another recipe. Unless someone knows the secret to keeping them intact.

Taste was great; however, I had a slight problem with the patties falling apart on me. I ended up with a skillet of the crumbled mixture and gravy. We ate it on mashed potatoes and it was still good, but had the patties stayed together it would have been better. As for the taste, a great recipe. Maybe I should have added extra bread crumbs?

OMG!!! Sooo good! I actually think this is the best thing I have ever made! I did do like another reviewer suggested and used 3/4 cup of breadcrumbs. Also I used beef broth instead of the browning sauce. I cooked all the patties, took them out of the cast iron fry pan I was using then sautéed the mushrooms in 2 tbs of butter then added the remaining sauce mixture and re-added the patties. Melt in your mouth goodness!! I ate it with white sticky rice and was in heaven. Thanks so much for this recipe!!

I've made this a few times and the family always enjoys eating. I've made with and w/o the mushrooms, daughter does not like mushrooms - very good either way. Gravy is great with mashed potatoes or over noodles.

Added an extra 1/4 cup of parmesan cheese, 1 tbsp. gravy mix, 2 tea. worceshire sauce, 1/8 tea garlic, 1/4 tea oregano, 1/4 teaspoon onion powder. Omitted fresh mushrooms, browning sauce, and diced onions. Pureed the sauce to remove any evidence of mushrooms (son is picky). Simmered covered about 45 minutes after browning. Did not break, just cracked a little. Delicious!! Thank you!

So simple, fairly quick, and great tasting too. This is actually one of the better salisbury steak recipes I've tried. Only enough sauce for the meat patties so if you are wanting some for "gravy" for mashed potatoes you'll need to double the sauce. I used dried minced onion to save time. These required careful turning to keep them from falling apart when cooking. Thanks, this was wonderful and we enjoyed!

A good easy recipe. I would make it again because it was quick and decently good. But, nothing that I would absolutely rave about either.

This is an excellent easy recipe to use when in a hurry. My husband raved about for two days! I did increase the bread crumbs to 3/4 cup and used 1 1/2 pound of meat. They did not break up when turned.

5 stars although I made the mistake of using condensed french onion soup instead of mushroom. I don't know HOW I made that mix up! However, it tasted great. I had to thicken the gravy because of my mixup with the soup. Grumpy loved it! I believe mushroom soup would be just as good.
