This recipe is very tasty. Really dresses up any boring white fish. It even makes it tasty enough for my 1- and 3-year old to eat fish with no complaints. The only thing I changed was I added a little more oil to the seasoning mixture. Otherwise, it's a little too salty and doesn't go as far. We'll make this one again and again!

This was just o.k. I used bottled ranch dressing instead of the packet. I found that the coating didn't stay on well at all when I fried it and the flavouring wasn't all that great. I probably won't make it again.

I just tried this recipe as a quick dinner tonight. I was alarmed at the sodium level, so I altered the recipe a bit. I used 1 cup of finely crushed corn flake cereal instead of seasoned bread crumbs. Instead of making a paste, I did a flour and egg wash prior to dipping in the corn flake/ranch mix, then I baked at 425 for about 20 minutes until crunchy. The kids liked this "good crunchy" fish. Overall, I'd make this again.

I made this fish last night following recipe exactly (the only minor change I made was to add some olive oil to the butter so that it wouldn't burn). The end result was pretty tasty, but both my DH and I found that the ranch seasoning really over-powered the flavour of the fish. So if you're looking to actually taste the fish you're eating - this recipe probably isn't for you.

This is a great , quick and impressive fish dish!!!!! I used panko and mixed the ranch packet together. I dredged the fish in four then egg wash then the ranch mix. Sprayed the baking dish with non-stick spray...baked at 425* for 14 mins. Flipping once...so good!!!!!!

LOVED THIS FISH. CAN GIVE A BLAND FISH A LOT OF FLAVOR. I THINK THE NEXT TIME I'M GOING TO TRY AND MIX THE RANCH DRESSING WITH THE BREAD CRUMBS AND RUB THE OIL ON THE FISH THEN THEN DREDGE.

The flavor wasn't good at all. It was a disappointment, as my family likes tilapia.

Thumbs up from all my family! I made one change -- didn't have any ranch mix so I coated the fish in bottled ranch dressing then dredged them in the italian bread crumbs. Came out perfectly!

Too funny!! I read the other reviews, where everyone was saying even people who don't like fish liked this. Well, my 13 year old daughter hates fish so much, she gets sick if she eats it. No, not allergic, just doesn't like the taste. So, I figured here's the ultimate test. I told her she had to eat one small bite, and if she didn't like it, she didn't have to eat any more. She took that bite, then, because 'she couldn't taste it' she took another one. Next, she put 1/2 of what was on her plate back in the pan 'to stick to her principals.' She actually liked it, but wouldn't eat it all just because she doesn't like fish!!!!!! If I could, I'd give it more stars!

The flavoring from the ranch packet was too over-powering for me and my family. I wouldn't make this one again.

Yum... I really liked the flavor of this fish... I made a couple of little changes. 1. I used Cod instead of tilapia; 2. I didnt use the whole packet of ranch - I reserved a little bit and sprinkled it over some sauted asparagus. It went great with the fish!

With the exception of modifying the spices to suit our taste, this coating is one that I have been using for years to coat chicken with prior to cooking in a covered dish in the microwave. It makes any meat coated in it super moist. I had used it on fish before but we loved it. A great way to cut back on the fried foods and bake instead. Thanks for the recipe.

This was SOOOOO good!! I can't believe how easy it was, by far the quickest meal I have made in a long time. Great family meal to make after work. Even my 2 year old, who is not a big fish eater, gobbled it up. The only change I will make next time is try to find low sodium ranch as it was just a little salty for my taste.

You know, we liked these, but I can't give them five stars. I used about 3/4 of the ranch dressing package, and it was pretty strong; I was using flounder, which is maybe the mildest fish in the entire world, so that might have contributed, but I couldn't imagine using the whole package. I like the ranch breading idea, but I think next time I might try a different method - maybe people who are dredging the fish in milk first have the right idea. My oil-and-dressing mix never came close to anything like a "paste" (again, I didn't use the whole packet) and I didn't have enough for all of my fish. Anyway, though, good flavor - particularly for people who don't like fish. I baked at 375 for 10 minutes. Edit: I tried it again with tilapia, baked at 375 for 10 minutes. This time I mixed the dressing mix with the breadcrumbs and lightly brushed the filets with olive oil - delicious! Just the right amount of tang. I'm upping my review to 5 stars. Thanks!
